I was just wondering if anyone out there knows why the 2x2s changed from their old hymn book to the new (current) one that they have? I'm just old enough to remember the old hymn books, but not old enough to know why they changed.
Thanks, RJ

The old one was worn out: needing a reprint worn type out of date technology some tunes out of copyright stale

Is it true that RLAllen directors are now F&W and attend conventions?

Its true that he was at one of the Scottish conventions. It's possible that one attended a convention, but again thats probably gossip.

One thing I do know is that worker's wanted their hymnbook copyright-ed, and the old book was not in the same manner. Questions of workers why the book was copyrighten received answers "It was required by the publishers."
Question of the publishers gets a far less simplistic response, which also included the workers responsible wanted it copyrighten.
But that was the answer back when it was first published, who knows what the responses might be today, a common thing within that group...truth changes with time while denying the fact.
