Often an older couple passes away and the meeting has to be moved. A couple who doesn't get the new meeting will pout about the other couple getting the meeting. Been there and done that! Competing for worker approval and favour. Meeting is consolidated and there are 2 elders in one meeting and one elder has to give up the position. And some workers do have their favorites in any field. I just wished I could see the human side of the truth growing up. I wished I could see that they have their problems just like any other church even if they see themselves as the TRUE CHURCH.

Not sure that it is competing for approval and favour, as much as competing for social status within the group.
Didn't Jesus have somewhat to say about status-seeking Pharisees?

Yes, Jesus had lots to say to the Pharisees. And the 2 x 2's are the modern Pharisees. He has lots to say to them, as well. "Come down off your self-appointed thrones."
