Hoskins Funeral Homes________________________________________ Doris and Wesley Robinson (Died August 27, 2008) ROBINSON, Doris Lee and Wesley Newton, both passed away tragically Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at the ages of 80 & 86 respectively. Doris was born in Rock Castle County, KY on January 31, 1928 to John & Margaret (nee: Brown) Houston and Wesley was born in Berea, KY on April 9, 1922. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and they married in 1946. They moved to their farm in Pleasant Plain in 1956 and have lived there since. She retired from the Kroger Co. in 1986 and enjoyed gardening, flowers and helping others. He retired from Ford Motor Co. in 1982 and enjoyed rabbit & pheasant hunting, golf, bowling, corn hole & pool. They both loved spending time with their family and will be sadly missed by all who knew them. They were preceded in death by their parents, one grandson, Mickie Shepherd, one great granddaughter, Kelsey Jayne Ivey, Doris’ sister, Beulah Houston, and Wesley’s brothers & sisters, Alfred Robinson, Lloyd Robinson, Gladys Robinson and Nettie Moore. Survivors include, one son, Robbie Lee Robinson of Acworth, GA, three daughters, Beverley Ann Pennington of Pleasant Plain, Deborah Lynn Shepherd of Felicity and Rebecca Marguerite Ventura of Hillsboro, twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, Doris’ brother and sister, John Thomas Houston and Linda McMaine, and Wesley’s brothers and sisters, Frank Robinson, Louetta Williams, Katy Greene, Betty Robinson, Georgie Chasteen and Virginia Conn. A joint visitation will be held Saturday, August 30th, 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 Noon, with the funeral service immediately following, all at the Goshen High School. Interment will follow in Graceland Memorial Park. Memorial donations are requested to the Wayne Twp. Fire Dept., 6514 St. Rt. 133, Goshen, OH 45122. Arrangements by Vale-Hoskins Funeral Home, Morrow.

I find this so sad since I sometimes come around the Cincinnati area to get to the university where I teach in West Virginia. I have wondered what friends might be living in that area. We just never know when our time might be. I know I would have loved to meet these friends. I want so much to get back in meetings myself now.
