He was preceded in death by his brother, Hugh Cox and his father, William Cox. He is survived by his wife, Jenette; his children, Janene, Jolene, and Jathan Cox and Monica Meyring; his mother, Jonna; his brother, Jeffery and wife April and children, Mercedes, Hunter and Alexis; and his sisters, Lorna Huber and her children, Rachelle, Danavan, Dale, Dean and Relissa; and Lisa and Ronnie King and many other relatives and a host of friends.
John made his choice to serve the Lord at Buttonwillow Convention on September 07, 1980. He loved the Truth as it is in Jesus. After high school, John continued his education at Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, AZ for his mechanical certification and attended College of the Desert for his realtor's license. He was also a licensed building and painting contractor. For the past fourteen years he was the public works administrator for the Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians.
John loved and lived life full throttle. He will be deeply missed by all who were touched by his energy and enthusiasm for life. A memorial service will be held in the Desert Hot Springs High School gymnasium on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception following. On Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., the Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians are holding a walk down memory lane in the tribal hall, on the reservation with lunch served directly afterwards. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Heartfelt thanks to all those who have shown their love and care to the family. Forest Lawn Cathedral City is in charge of arrangements
