My uncle, Dad's brother, passed away two days ago around noon as well...he was professing but had Parkinson's so hadn't been able to participate for some time as far as I know.(They also live all the way across the state from me and we hadn't seen him too often...though Dad more than most of us.) Just thought I would share in case any knew him--though I suppose if you did you would already know. We weren't close close (anymore, as I rarely saw him and when I grew up down where he is now, ironically, he was up here...now I'm up here and he's been down there!), but I loved him just the same, and feel for my dad and all the family, of course. Sometimes it feels like so many leave us all at once---it's been like that here lately.
Anyway, I will post the obit when I get it.

WTBWG, Provide a little more info about your uncle, PMing me is fine, it's been awhile since we've corresponded. Being outside the faith doesn't erode the love and personal feelings that one has for those that continue in the faith, no matter the circumstances, relatives or not. There are so many of my dear old friends that I've wondered about over the years who've had, for myself, a positive influence on my life -- unbeknown to them. And for that single tribute, in itself, I'm forever so grateful. Lute1812

My uncle was out of the meetings for a long time and only just professed again a while back...not sure how many years ago, but not awfully long ago. This bothers me again in the way that I mentioned earlier (wrote a thread about Joey on the main page a couple of weeks ago. She professed again not too long before her death.) ....when we face our mortality, there are many who were b&r that seem to turn back that direction when searching for God...even though they may have been searching all along. It's just curious to me and makes me think. If we are *truly* so convinced it's unnecessary or not the right way, why then? (and this means *NO disrespect* to those who have recently passed on. I have thought about my own mortality and how I would feel in these very terms and I know some others have as well.)
What, exactly, did you care to know about my uncle? You may PM me and I will share with you....
ETA: down there is where I used to live (southern WI) up here is where I now live. (northern WI) M.

But forgot to change the date all places...only changed it in the birth/death dates and changed his age...there are a few other places 1933 is mentioned and it should be 1932. Not that it's really so important! M.

Hello Mich: To express my care that you have lost an uncle on this side. I lost an uncle that was an encouragement to me a year and a half ago and feel the loss of his wisdom and visits. Thanks for your chat the other day....
