Marchette Chute wrote a wonderful trio of books called Search for God, The End of the Search, and Jesus of Israel. Chute is a Christian Scientist and presents a very interesting view of the divinity of Jesus. She also presents a fascinating view of the Book of Revelations being a spiritual journey and not an end-of-times prophecy. I absolutely love her work.

I haven't read anything that she has written, but I have a few of her books in que to be read. Anyone read that new Oprah book, The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett? I read Pillars of the Earth a few months back. I liked it. I like history or people, places & religions. Made me more aware of how the Catholics were in that time period. I recently read Ken Follett's newest book "World without End". I didn't like it as much, felt it was about 300 pgs. too long. Read Pillars of the Earth many years ago. Picked up World Without End after reading this thread. Just finished it. I have to agree that while it was very good, it was a bit too long.

the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan is my new favorite series. I'm only 4 books in out of 12.

You have a long ways to go. Unfortunately, the last one won't be written by Jordan.

Right there with you on this! I loved those books.
Another recommendation: the Dresden Files series is pretty good. I'm only four books in and am eagerly awaiting for #5 to be made into an audio book.
