Do you think elections in Iraq will be free, fair and safe? Or will violence and intimidation plague the process especially in the Sunni Triangle of Death near Rimadi, Samarra, Fallujah, and Mosul.
I believe in the Shiite South, people are ready for peace and democracy. Shiites are the majority so they stand the best chance of gaining power they didn't have under Saddam. Speaking of the Mess Hall massacre, why would soldiers be housed in a damn tent?

Even half free, half fair, and half safe, would be a lot better than anything they would ever obtain under the previous government! inatent

US media likes to say that other countries don't want or need democracy. Don't believe it. Deep down there is a yearning inside to be free. The ones planting the car bombs and roadside bombs don't want it because they want to rule by force. Just like Saddam and the Baathist thugs shot their way into power. The insurgents have complicated things by their evil ways. Ditto to those stupid clerics who preach hate inside the mosques.

Sunnis are in the minority. They shouldn't expect to dominate the country like they once did. Shiites have a right to govern also.
