bad battery.... Try using a program that updates your clock automatically Does it lose time when the system is running? Is the operating system something other than Windows? If Windows, what version. Could be a bad battery but the battery is only a problem if the system is shut down. Usually a bad battery will cause complete failure of the clock not just a slowdown. It will often be accompanied by ROM failure and loss of settings. A heavily loaded Linux system can lose time because of the load. Take care when installing 'free' clock software. Programs like ClockSync, for example, are actually adware with little additional benefit.
