Yes. I may come as a shock to you that Jim Jones, who killed himself with 900 along with other of his followers, was a 2x2 from an early age.

Someone once said "You can't raise any cows when you keep shooting the bull".
There seems to be so many dead bulls on this board that there couldn't be any cows! lol

Assuming that you are right, Jim Jones would have been an ex 2x2 when he killed himself along with his followers. So who should be more shock by your revelation, the 2x2's or the ex 2x2's. Just wondering

Personally... I think the 2x2's would be feeling quite self-justified. He's an evil ex! ;D That would be if it was true though... I can't find any conclusive evidence yet...

I used to work with Jim Jones. He lived in Vancouver and was in upper management. I don't recall him as Reverend. He was really against his people having internet connections. I believe he retired in the late 1990's.
With a name like Jim Jones, I would expect there may be a fair number of Jim Jones that attend meetings.

We're related to a Jim Jones- and yes, he's a 2x2, but he's not the one of the infamous Jim Jones cult. And yes, there are many Jim Joneses!

religiousmovements.lib.virginia.edu/nrms/Jonestwn.htmlA quote from the above link: James Warren Jones was born to a working class family at the height of the Great Depression. His father, James Thurman Jones, was a disabled veteran, and there is some speculation that he belonged to the Ku Klux Klan. Jim's mother, Lynetta, effectively raised her son alone. She greatly influenced his interests in social justice and equality. She was skeptical of organized religion, but did believe in spirits—a belief she communicated to her son (Hall 1987: 6). A neighbor took him to Pentecostal church services as a child, and this undoubtedly shaped his understanding of worship as an intensely emotional experience. What emerged from these influences was a self-styled theology that combined aspects of Pentecostalism with social idealism. From this alone, it's unlikely he was raised a 2x2.
His father was a disabled veteran. Military service wasn't unheard of but was discouraged in Truth of that era.
His mother influenced his interests in social justice and equality. Social and political concerns were largely ignored in Truth of that era.
She believed in spirits. Belief and talk of spirits was rare in Truth of that era.
A neighbor took him to a 'worldly' church. This wouldn't have been tolerated under any circumstances in Truth of that era.Highly unlikely in my observant opinion.
