I don't believe head workers randomly assign worker's to a field. And I think it is more than the overseer getting on his knees. Special attention is paid to matching companions with each other and a field suitable to them. What do you think? Some workers are cut out for rural areas while others are more suitable for suburban areas.

Or..you could just ask, like I did! ... Lyle Shobert was our head worker and in my field we'd had sister workers the whole time I was there. I called him up one day and expressed my desire for some brother workers in our area..next thing ya know..the workers list was announced and Lyle and Jack Henry- I think it was Jack..am I really losing my memory or what??.. .Jack ..if you read on here..forgive me!- were coming to our field!! pretty cool!. .. .I got a ribbing from some folks about how I had some pull with the workers after that! ha!. .
Johnny
ps..don't tell Lyle..I was upset and that's why I left the church..we had sister workers again only 2 years later!

We had an interested woman, outsider, who said that she really liked sister worker "S". Low and behold, "S" was placed in our field.
btw-interested woman never professed and no longer comes to any meetings

As someone who hired, assigned, and evaluated employees in our company I always looked for the right fit for the employee, the customer, and the company. Since we were in a position to move people around on a yearly basis it was important that I considered all the factors each year in the assignments. Why would the Worker assignments be any different?

Claiming to be men/women of God they should be doing it the biblical way....praying together as Leaders and asking the Lord as the APostles did. Enquiring from God if this person is called or not. He would show them. Then they should be praying for them through the laying on of hands as it says to do. Geee choosing leaders is not like running a company of employees.
