I heard from a culsweet thingch group that you cannot run down any group in England like for example a christian radio talk show would be cut off the air if any attempt to slander others? I was wondering if Geoff is on to this..over here in America we have a bit more freedom I think

Bannockburn 1314, please speak for yourself. The times they are a'changin'.
England is overseen by a Scottish Prime Minister who just happens to be born and bred in the same town as myself. His Father was a minister in the same town. By virtue of Gordon Brown's PM-ship we, the devolved race in Scotland, now rule England. We have come a long way from 1314 !
Most, if not all the major political parties are headed by Scots. Those that are not have a bleak future.

Yep. In England you can say what you want as long as you don't swear. Stations such as LBC is a talk radio. They talk about lots of stuff on there. Check it out. "London's biggest conversation". www.lbc.co.uk/article.asp?id=26153

I heard a couple missionaries talk on the watchman on the wall www.swrc.com They were able to figure out that when it comes to religions you cannot say what you please or you will get cut off the air waves...go figure

Hmmmm - my hubby brought some papers back from England - and WOAH!, I sure thought they were a bit more "free" in their "freedom of expression" than us Americans! And I've seen some parts of the Graham Norton show - so you can be free in your expression as long as it's not related to religion??? (I consider some of Gordon Ramsey's comments to be in bad taste, too!) Just curious.

I learned a bit of the Scottish history from reading "The Martha Years" (about Laura Ingals Wilder's great grandmother) with my daughter. It created quite an interest in Scottland for both of us. Sadly I don't remember learning much Scottish history in school. But great books make it come alive.

Wannabe...
Hello. As Craig is from the UK and I take it you are from the USA and married. How long did it take for Craig to get his working visa so that he can start work? I'm in the same situation as yourself. Thanks.
M.
