The best way to see if this works is to try it. See post on Admin Issues:
Highlighted topic. As well as all the other threads, perhaps we could have one topic of current interest 'stickied' to the top of the main board for a short time, to encourage all who visit the board to read and comment on it, sort of an "under the microscope" topic to delve into in detail and from a wide perspective. Topics could be suggested by any one of us.
We'll start by stickying GIT's thread on "Free Will" and see if we can get some in-depth discussion. After interest wanes, or after about a week, we can sticky another topic for "under the microscope" examination.
Suggestions for topics to delve into here please.

I would like to read a discussion on salvation through grace vs. works. (well not only our works, but works in addition to grace. You know what I mean.) M.

Yep know what you mean Once we have exhausted the topic of 'Free Will' I will start and sticky a thread 'Salvation: grace vs. works'. Please start collecting your thoughts, so you can start us off running!

Heh. I doubt I'm the best one to ask. I've been severely lacking in my relationship with God for years and am only just delving back in. I think I will sit back and read for a bit (shocking, I know..me??!) and then comment if I can come up with anything remotely resembling an intelligent remark. I look forward to the discussion..thanks! M>

I would like to read a discussion on salvation through grace vs. works. (well not only our works, but works in addition to grace. You know what I mean.) M. By popular request (and from me personally too, asking a favor), would Linda (selah) agree to being a kind of mentor/study leader for us for these threads on bible topics (doctrine and significant issues) that we sticky in a prominent position for a week or as long as interest continues? If you agree Linda, and you will do it beautifully so I'm hoping, could you start a thread on the topic Mich has suggested, "Role of grace & works in salvation" and I'll sticky it for you. Bit of an experiment but if it works, it will be great. Thanks.

There seems only limited interest in this suggestion and that by GIT for a debate. Things are going along nicely with the rest of the board, so we'll let the idea sink for a bit, maybe try it again later.

Things are going along nicely with the rest of the board, so we'll let the idea sink for a bit, maybe try it again later. That's because GIT wanted a bully pulpit from which to slap down anyone who dares address him. And he wanted you to prop him up on the soapbox, so to speak.

And he wanted you to prop him up on the soapbox, so to speak. He'll be very wobbly if he's relying on me to prop him up ;D

Well, I don't agree that that's what he wanted....but, in other news, Admin should be impartial to comments like that, no??? M.

Admin should be impartial to comments like that, no??? M. M that was an attempt at a joke, you're goin to have to get used to my sense of humor. It was aimed at me not GIT, i'd be hopeless at propping anybody up!! And while we're on the topic, are you M the big boss or maybe M for Miss Moneypenny? Just call me James... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M_(James_Bond)

YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE JOKES!! YOU MUST BE STERN AND UNYIELDING ON ALL ISSUES THAT COME YOUR WAY. THERE IS NO ROOM FOR LEVITY, MIRTH OR OTHER THINGS WHICH EVEN HAVE THE APPEARANCE OF HUMOR. WE JUDGE YOU NOT BY YOUR TESIMONY BEFORE US BUT BY HOW YOU APPEAR TO US. YOU MUST FOLLOW OUR RULES WHICH HAVE NOT BEEN WRITTEN. THESE RULES MUST BE KNOWN TO YOU AND ANY DEVIATION WILL BE MET BY SHUNNING, RIDICULE AND WHISPERED GOSSIP. Scott anybody seen my pet rock anywhere.....

Ah, Admin.... Please accept my apology...I misunderstood. Scott, of course Admin should joke....I just didn't think it was very "professional" to be on the GIT bandwagon...but, as I now see, he/she was not... M. and it's M. Just M. Shhhhhhhhhhhh. people might be listening. *looks around in paranoia*

That dang rock anyhow! If I could just get her to quit hanging around with those stones, she wouldn't get in so much trouble. People keep throwing them though.... You'd think they would know the consequences of casting stones at her by now. Troubles keep multiplying when they do. Scott thanks for keeping the kids. I love it when people look after them....
