Point 12: Very sadly when you get to the core of things the Friends and Workers are not interested in the actual revelation of the written Word. They don’t want to go there because they fear it will undermine or nullify their own beliefs.

quote - "...actual revelation of the written Word."
What is this revelation? That God has decided to accept homosexual priests, or that Jesus wants us to have a smaller and greener footprint for the world he gave us?

The focus of the f&w church is to follow the Bible in all things, even down to points others consider irrelevent. The Bible is our substitute for church doctrine. This does not mean that our understanding or interpretation will match yours, of course! We're all guessing.

I wonder why 'wannabe' is constantly apologizing to git, brick, and ran. Do you suppose M lacks something? M states an opinion and then backpedals (much like git), apologizes for having an opinion, states the opinion, and backpedals again. I wonder how muddled life could be if all time was spent apologizing one's right to freedom of opinion and thought. I wonder if loved ones of M see a lack of backbone.
U wonder 2?
Just razzin' ya. I'm sorry, but that's my opinion, ya know? I mean, I wouldn't of told ya if ya hadn't mentioned it, ya know? I'm just razzin' ya. Sorry . . . . just razzin' ya. . . . sorry. (smiley face)

I wonder why 'wannabe' is constantly apologizing
Perhaps wanttobewithgod is conscious that she makes mistakes (as 100% if the human race is prone to do) and believes it to be consistent with her moral system to apologise for her mistakes. I think I can certainly learn a valuable lesson from WTBWG, because I don't think I acknowledge my errors as often as I should - placing "the cause" ahead of "the commandments". I think WTBWG demonstrates a lot of integrity in her habit.
On the other hand, there are lots of very objectionable anonymous posters who just abuse people. My! I would love to meet them face-to-face one day and ask them how they could post such things in good conscience! The same abusers - like wild-eyed fundamentalist street-screechers - never apologise for their revolting conduct.
to git, brick, and ran.
This is untrue. WTBWG is not constantly apologising to me. I like her. I would love to meet her and her husband one day and have a coffee, but I don't think she goes about bowing and scraping.
Links please?
Do you suppose M lacks something?
Yes. She lacks self-serving unpleasantness, gratituous nastiness, a fragile and easily damaged ego, a morbid bitterness, a cruel streak, and concern about her opinions being unacceptable to the thought police on the forum.
M states an opinion and then backpedals (much like git), apologizes for having an opinion, states the opinion, and backpedals again.
I don't think she does this at all. I think she states her opinions, and sticks by them. At times she refines them, but this is a far cry from "backpeddling".
I wonder how muddled life could be if all time was spent apologizing one's right to freedom of opinion and thought. I wonder if loved ones of M see a lack of backbone.
This is a very cruel and unnecessary statement. WTBWG is one of the friendliest, and most consistently nice people on this forum. If a man feels he needs to rubbish a woman because she has views with which he disagrees, apologises for any mistakes she made, and happens to side occassionally with people with whom he dislikes it indicates either a simply nasty streak, or a lack of moral fortitude and integrity.
I'm sorry. I can't understand why anyone would make such a comment to another person - "you must lack backbone", and to even bring in that person's family "her loved ones must observe". I just don't get it. I'm sorry. I really don't get it. How could come out with something like that.
U wonder 2?
I do wonder. I find such conduct absolutely unbelievable.
