In my opinion, Lyle, you are to be highly commended for your ultimate actions regarding a very sad situation. In fact, in over 50 years of total devotion, participation, and exposure to the 2&2 ministry group, you are the very first "worker" I have ever heard, or even known of, make an apology for anything wrong, or in error, past or present.
For nearly a decade, I have requested, begged, pleaded, for workers to openly identify themselves and post to these Internet forums. Your posts to this message board with full self-identification as a "worker" without being forced into such an admission (John Wegter (sp?) did identify himself, but only after he was more or less forced to do so, but he quickly quit posting...over his true identity anyway) convinces me there IS still some integrity left among your group of 2&2 ministers.
Yes, I have been rather hard on "workers" in this forum. On the other hand, I have tried constantly to be fair to them also. Your group of "workers" as a whole have MUCH to learn from your openness and honesty in posting here!!!! For what it may be worth to you, if anything, "thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing so, with the content you have, and the attitude, and openness, and willingness to learn which you have expressed!"
May your post establish a precedent I personally have NEVER seen before among your group of "2&2 workers." May your group of "2&2 workers" learn to be quick to apologize for errors, and mistakes of the past, quick to turn the "search light of God" inward, and quick to remove candlesticks from UNDER baskets, throwing open the entire group of "2&2 workers" to the light of day, removing secrecy from their behavior traits as a whole.
Once, when I was still in that work, I did a study on the secret things of the Kingdom of God, and spoke about them in a number of meetings. I found them to be: secret prayer life, secret alms giving, secret fasting. When they who are seeking to be representatives of God as a whole carry secrecy into nearly every aspect of their work, it is harmful, dangerous, and results in deceit and deception, truly tools of Satan.
You have taken steps to turn that tide. Steps I believe indicate you are indeed learning what has been so harmful and counter productive to your group from its very inception.
Again, thank you for a beginning, a turning of 180 degrees from previous practices and procedures. Wishing you to continue in that new direction in those things which have literally forced so many in one way or another from fellowship with you and your group.
Sincerely,
Dennis Jacobsen
