As I became a middle aged man, I resented chastisement from a younger worker. Something like being told where to sit or park at convention or gospel meetings would piss me off. Somehow an older man with silver hair didn't bother me as much. But some young chap trying to crack the whip would burn me up. And yes, much of the blame can be placed upon myself.
Having said that, I wished the workers wouldn't try to test us by provoking us in such a way that would test whether or not we had a RIGHT SPIRIT.

I think this all stems from us being taught to respect our elders when we were younger. I know how you feel. I had a young worker tell me I should clean up my garden shed and organize it better. ha. Hate to tell him this but I spent the better part of a day cleaning and organizing before he arrived. He should have seen it before.
Maybe they feel they have a right to tell us what to do and how to do it. Actually, it just causes me to have less respect for them.

Sounds like you need a little humility in your life...

I think some of the younger worker just need to realize that some of us have more important things to worry about. Like supporting them. I sure know I need a lesson on humility tonight.

On the correction note. I have come to realize that not all the correction is even accurate.
I teach meteorology and in my class, of course, there is an entire study of cloud types. One time at preps there were amazing thunder storm clouds. They were cumulonimbus mammatus, which are the little puffer clouds that hang on the bottom of a thunder head. They look like little breasts, thus the name "mammatus."
A younger brother worker walked by and I happened to be gushing over the cloud formation and said some thing like, "wow, look at those unbelievably cool clouds." He replied with total arrogant authority and disgust, "they are simply ordinary cirrus clouds."
Something died for me that day and I thought "wow what an arrogant ignorant jerk."

I think the mannerism and social skills really leave something to be desired with a lot of the younger workers. I would think if they lack people skills they should never be allowed in the work. I have met a couple who think they are the cream of the crop, when in all reality they are just sour grapes.

Thanks Nitro,
You always crack me up. The cloud story was by me, skippy, the person who has goats and is too lazy to log in. Those are perfect examples of cumulonimbus mammatus and are completely different from cirrus.
A great visual cloud lesson.
Thanks again Nitro,
