According to a post about US workers laboring abroad, someone claims that professing folks in Mexico aren't allowed to go swimming. is that true?
Tom Shroeder on TLT stated that Alan Anderson told his daughters they couldn't go skiing when they professed or something like that. Given that his uncle is Clarence, I wouldn't be suprised. I think the legalistic workers are sent to 3rd world nations where there is less of a democratic and materialistic tradition. Jim Knipe in Argentina, for example.

If you read the post carefully, it says that they are not allowed to wear swiming suits. Very different from "not swiming".

If you read the post carefully, it says that they are not allowed to wear swiming suits. Very different from "not swiming". In a note sent to the faithful in Mexico it was stated that given the size of today's bathing suits that they do not leave much to the imagination. Therefore they would be better off not wearing the current style of swimming suits. The skimpy suits only served to inflame the imagination of anyone looking. Not to mention the libido. The solution that eliminates the tantalizing and teasing views the modern suits provide is to recommend that the friends swim au naturel. This removes the mystery and places everyone on a level playing field. I don't feel this requires any additional discussion.

. . . given the size of today's bathing suits that they do not leave much to the imagination. Unfortunately, this is all too true. It's rather disgusting, imo. However, I cannot go so far as to agree that this is a viable solution. LOL!

Reminds me of myself, back in the late 70's, when I had to sneak my mom's bikini (with long coverup). As soon as she was out of sight, bam, that coverup was off, baring all for all to see (which wasn't much). Ladies, if the men can't handle it, don't worry about it! Don't be ashamed of what God/Goddess gave you.

Swinning has been banned by the UK workers for years so this comes as no surprise.
The females are only allowed to win in private pools if they are wearing a full body stocking..so there you go

Most women In my opinion over the age of 25 in the USA dont have great figures anymore so wearing a regular one piece or even a modest 2 piece is not going to have men running for cover because they have erections. I was at a water park recently with my 60 yr old mother and my toddler and I must say out of the 150 plus people in the pools area, there was only one young mother who had a killer body, and she was wearing a modest suit. All the other women were either overwight, out of shape or just not nothing to stare up. Just my two cents, also there was no hot guys there either they all had beer guts. To ban a sport or fun activity in the summer just because you cannot wear tons of clothes is stupid. We all have the same body parts so big deal.

If you read the post carefully, it says that they are not allowed to wear swiming suits. Very different from "not swiming". Just another opinion, when I was professing teen I was only allowed to wear a one piece bathing suit to the water park, sides and the pools in town or whatever. I did not start to wear a 2 piece bathing suit until I was about 27 yrs of age and lived in so CALI where the itsy bitsy bikinis are. But by then I had a beer belly so no one was staring at me anyways. If you go to a major beach in southern California and you are a professing woman or man and you wear a normal sized bathing suit. (not small bikini or not banana hamock for man) for women and board shorts for men, no one is going to have erections on the beach looking at you because. 1. Everyone is wearing bathing suits. 2. there are tons of women in bikini so there is enough eye candy for the young males. 3. If you wore one of those wierd suits you would get stared at more. I think its all relative to what you are doing. I would not swim fully clothed at the beach anymore than i would wear a dress to pick weeds in the front yard so my butt was hanging out for the neighbors to see. I think its more about common sense than anything else...besides like I said most women over the age of 25 in the United States do not have great figures and are fat, so big deal.

can we drag the conversation over to men's beach fashion ? my husband was relaxing in his Canadian-bought shorts this summer and I suddenly realised all the other men on the beach were in speedo types. The ones you daren't wear on a family beach in Canada ... /c

where is tell sackett when you need him? !!!! ... he could tell us stories... how things don't really change.... how the indians used to run around all but naked, and naked on the beaches in california, and how the white men came, and called them savages and barbarians, and killed them or christianized them, and how that a hundred years later those same white men's grand kids are running around naked on the beaches in california... some things don't change....entirely.....

Funny thread !! In Australia we refer to the men's briefs as "budgie smugglers'. I laughed when I read the N.A. term 'banana hammock' !!

Edgar! Swedish men live in a culture where women are free to wear as much or as little as they feel like -- and few people even notice. I think that radical 2x2ism has the same effect. Edgar I remember Willie Smiley suggesting one time that 'mixed swimming' was out of bounds. -- Although as far as I know, no one payed much attention -- and Willie never went to the beach or swimming pool!!!! so he never knew!

Swinning has been banned by the UK workers for years so this comes as no surprise. The females are only allowed to win in private pools if they are wearing a full body stocking..so there you go I agree with the ban on swinning. It is an evil pastime and encourages people to touch each other in very pleasing yet strangely inappropriate ways. I know one couple who was so into swinning that they started a club and soon the whole town was involved. It wasn't until the outbreak of hoof and mouth that it finally came to an end. And as far as women only being allowed to win in a pool - that is unfair. Suppose they play the lottery in a store? Do their winnings not count? I think both men and woman should be able to win where ever they want. And, if they want, they should be able to win in the nude. Just my 4 cents.

UK female workers themselves swim in one piece swim suits, and the friends wear a mix of 1 and 2 piece suits. Northern UK sea temps pretty much preclude swimming there, but in pools its quite common.

I've never heard a worker say that we shouldn't go swimming. We used to have regular pool outings with the friends in Dublin over the years. Everyone wore one pieces but the workers never stopped us or said anything about it that I heard of. Yes SwimUK, you are right. The water is FREEZING! I grew up a mile from the beach in Dublin and i remember going numb. After that you were fine. :-) My aunt went on a holiday to somewhere in Spain last year and she wore a bikini out by the pool. Another one of the friends ran into her there and went home and told the workers. According to my aunt it was a skirted bikini and very modest. She was livid nonetheless that she couldnt sunbathe in peace without having to get permission from the workers first.
