For all of you who rip on the workers and the religion......YOU BETTER MAKE SURE YOU ARE RIGHT. Standing before God someday will be quite a jolt......when God dimisses you by saying, "My way was perfect, my people were not." Jesus is the only way

Dear jh62:
I re-read my post. Yes. There is an attitude. I’m sorry for that. I haven’t seen much about the victims, but a whole lot about the perp. Lots of concern for the perp. I was angry about that.
I’m very sorry these things happened to you. I should not have assumed that the reason you didn't want to hear about it was boredom. My apologies. Certain unmentionable things have happened to me, also. Perhaps that’s why the attitude. Sorry again, that it should show so much. Please forgive?
I have forgiven the things that happened in the past. But, like you, it’s not forgotten. Here’s the thing for me. The cause is still here, in a works-based, false system that manifests its predators FAR too often in the form of child molestation cases.
A system that forbids marriage breeds sexual sin. The Bible says to let every man have his own wife. It people can stand it, it’s better to be alone – (I Cor 7:2) and be mindful of the things of the Lord. But every single worker (that should be obvious) or even a large number of them cannot be cut out to stand it. That’s why Paul says that one of the signs of false teaching in the last days is that marriage is forbidden (I Tim 4:1-5).
But, my situation and what happened in the past truly puts me in a position to work for good – when I may not have been able to get past go before. I am reminded of Rom 8:28 concerning my past.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
No relationship is an accident. None occur by chance. I have found that whatever situations God has allowed me to be in – worked for my good or the good of others in the end. It’s sort of miracle sometimes when I think about it – and I shouldn’t so much have the attitude I get sometimes. I think it’s more because I get riled up when I think how a molested child might feel if someone should say, “enough is enough already.” Maybe my “inner child” gets mad about that. Actually, it's just the flesh trying to get back inside the old man. It's sometimes more comfortable there--especially in anger.
Concerning how many posts people make – I don’t think one should correlate the number of posts to whether or not a person has something better to do—or not “doing enough” about the problem. F&W tend to focus on the “do” part of it. Gotta go DO. If something isn’t right, then you're not DOING enough. That’s a works-based mind set. It’s hard to get out of it and let go and let God – I’ll be the first to admit, I have a problem with it. And no, who prays enough? No one. I don’t pray enough. That's like saying, "Go and sin no more." Of course we will. But in Christ, my sins are covered (Rom 8:1). Even not praying enough.
I don’t post here because I love to chat online. I have a burden on my heart for F&W. My mother is one. My Dad is one. They are being deceived. All my brothers and cousins and aunts and uncles I love so much are being deceived. I want them to know the truth.
As long as my people are in a works-based system led by false teachers who preach that Jesus is not God, they are being deceived. They shouldn’t stay and listen to it. I believe many are elect of God. I try to tell them the truth. And I pray (never enough) for them and get other people to pray for them . . . I want them to see what I have seen and what transformation can happen with a renewing of the mind. Before, I didn't care. But because I have seen the real Jesus on every page of the Bible, I want them to see Who He is, too. I love them. I want them to be saved. If they are already saved, I pray they will come out of this false system.
Christ's Forever,
Jessi

One thing that this thread fails to address is the scope of psycological damage done to a very large number of victims through the years that have been forced to continue life (seriously psycologically handicapped) while friends and workers continue to sing the praises of the workers that abused them -- And the workers that have mollested them (and workers just like them) still sit on the platform as icons of righteousness.
True enough -- many years may have passed - everyone else has forgotten the relevant events - this makes any kind of closure impossible. All that is left when the subject comes up, are pious comments -- "can't we talk about something else". Imagine how it feels!!!
This Tim Severud case is just the tiny tip of an iceberg.

Isn't it really sad that everyone gets so taken up with a wrong in a group. I think this whole thing is coming to the open because society as a whole wants it out in the open... primarily because we have come to understand two things....
1) The hurt and lasting effect on the victims
and
2) The perpetrators do not reform or change.
It was not only the preachers that didn't want all the cases out in the open.. it was also the families of the victims not wanting the publicity that comes from such a case. A lot of ground has been covered in the recent years as how do deal with these issues.
So please become a little more reasonable in your criticism of these issues within the group you are speaking about.

Edgar,
The "heat" generated by this from this event will be sure to melt down more of that iceberg, and should other pedophilles exist within, I'm sure they'll be set afloat to be on their own and take the legal consequences for their actions.
Every family, whether it is a spiritual family or a natural family, is accountable to the rest of society for any protection that it would offer those who they know to have committed any crimes.
Responsible adults respond as Juilette, John, Scott, Lyle and Craig did. And I'm sure that they've set the precedent for the way any future events involving pedophilles will be handled.

really,
You have a point. However: what is damaged pride worth compared to a damaged soul?
Damaged pride = those who think only of themselves and THEIR image.
And it's effects are temporary.
But a damaged soul is for a life-time. And a crime against both God and society.
Our group, as a whole, has not been taken up with this wrong in our group. Becoming aware of it--now--is important: since that awareness is necessary if the parents are to protect their children.
And those who want to protect their family name or image, or church, or family members, need to get their thinking and priorities straighten out--with the seriousness of this crime.
Therefore, at this point in time, I think it's important that individuals focus on it (just to "get it"): and "get it right": not just in our church, but in all of society.

imo,
you are right.. this is a society wide problem... and as a group the f&w's are just catching up to what society in general has started understanding... I commend them for that... I am sure it will continue.
I feel sorry for the victims and their families... but more privacy has been afforded them in these new times also. That is good.
Protection of the image... the best image is the one protecting the children, victims of impropriety and their families. This will be the future standard for all.
