"Fundamentalist" has a bad connotation these days. But it once meant Christians who got back to the fundamentals of Christianity.

I dont believe there is anything wrong with that but I really feel for my mum, now deceased, who left "the church", "the truth" or whatever anyone chooses to call it for the love of her husband, a non member, her love of life and of her children. She was an absolute saint of a woman, loved by all who knew her and forever doing good to and for everyone she knew. She was frightened until the day she died that she would go to hell for giving up her church. I have no doubt she is blissfully happy in heaven. No-one could ever convince me that a woman of my mothers calibre, goodness and giving nature could ever end up in hell.

I agree with you Annie, No one should have to live a life full of fear and not know that one is saved let alone LOVED by God regardless of our failures as humans that we are. I am also sure that your mother is resting in peace where she should have been told by the preachers that she trusted that she would be. I noticed an elderly woman, she was almost 90 yrs. old, in our meeting who seemed fearful of dying. She knew her time was coming, but there was no peace. I did not want to end up like that so I am very grateful that my eyes were opened to the falsehood of this church and was led out.
