Most of you would know that we sent out a letter with the specific request to communicate with children and to immediately report any suspected abuse to the law officials. This letter was sent to the households in our fellowship in the state (and some in surrounding states). In addition in conversations with the lead investigator I gave him names, addresses and phone numbers of those I felt may have been more likely involved. I assured him I welcomed him to contact any others on the list Tim gave to him that contained all those in this fellowship in the state and neighboring churches. Should others come to our attention that might have been possible victims, I stated that I would contact him again. I believe it was about eight hundred and fifty letters we sent out. We also encouraged any who had concerns about others they knew who may be parents of possible victims, to send them a copy of our letter. We sincerely hope parents will have the courage to do their part in helping their children in this matter.

Lyle,
Your openness in this matter is commendable.
May I ask what degree of openness you employ when asked about the history of the 2x2 church?

Congratulations Lyle, you've just been flamed.
I'm sure that Scott and Julia warned you that would likely be flamed when you posted here - hopefully it won't discourage you from continuing an open and honest dialogue as most here will appreciate that.

Howdy, Lyle is expecting to be bombarded with questions and accusations which have no bearing on the situation with Tim. Yes we let him know what he could expect from some here on the TMB. My advice was for him to ignore much of what he reads here, and not respond and lower himself to the level of some posters. I for one want Lyle (and other workers) to come here and be able to share with us how they feel and believe. I did briefly discuss William Irvine and his role in the church with Lyle and Craig at our meeting. Because that wasn't the focus of the meeting we didn't talk too much about it. Scott

Open dialogue does not a "flame" make. Not sure what forum you've been reading.

Lyle, Your openness in this matter is commendable. May I ask what degree of openness you employ when asked about the history of the 2x2 church? Why not start up a thread that deals with the above snark, rather than disguising it as a pseudo-compliment, followed by a "question" on a thread that has nothing to do with what you "asked".

Why not start up a thread that deals with the above snark, rather than disguising it as a pseudo-compliment, followed by a "question" on a thread that has nothing to do with what you "asked". Good idea, although I didn't perceive the question as a "snark". The reason the poster asked the question is because, as you and I both know, the history question IS an issue. It's a question that many people have, because it has NOT been openly addressed, at least in North America.
