If you're having trouble letting go of the lead weight you hang on to as you struggle for the surface, read "The Secret Sect" by Doug and Helen Parker My dad read the book and it really helped him let go. So, unless the workers have stabbed you in the back personally, perhaps the book will help. Thank God my dad got out of the cult and we could have a great supper together tonight. Please pray for my miserable mother. I dislike being around her she is so willfully ignorant blind, conceited and vain. Brad

I am sorry to hear about your Mom. I read one book by Mrs. Lewis, I forgot the name. Anyway it did not help me get over anything, just helped me realize I was not the only one who had the same issues. What helped me was the following. 1. TIME. 2 Reading the Bible by myself. 3. Some prayer. 4. Talking to close friends about it that were not professing and having them tell me God was not in a box. 5. When my parents stopped professing that helped because I felt that I was not so condemmed. 6. More time. Now it just helps to hear others stories, because it takes a long time to get over it.

Brad, I'm certainly not speaking of your mom. However I have a dear friend in the 2x2s. Vanity personified! I don't think she would ever go to convention without a new wardrobe! Hard to believe much less understand.

If you're having trouble letting go, prayer is key. As we struggled through the transition, my husband and I begged God to erase our previous knowledge of the bible and His "way" and replace it with true WISDOM. It was very exciting and encouraging, as each morning and each night he answered our prayer... and my husband couldn't wait to share what had been revealed to us through prayer, reading our bibles, and... even dreams!
