Perhaps one of the biggest draws of the NAM (New Age Movement) is the release it provides from personal accountability and responsibility. Moral Relativism claims that there is no such thing as right or wrong. Each PERSON, in their effort to achieve oneness, must travel their own path and make their own decisions. And those decisions are never wrong, provided they’re not wrong in that person’s own mind.
Popular Figures with New Age/Eastern views: Jack Canfield (editor of Chicken Soup for the Soul books); Madonna; Oprah Winfrey; M. Scott Peck; Beastie Boys’ Adam Yauch; Brad Pitt; singer Jewel; George Lucas; Dr. Deepak Chopra; Steven Spielberg; Elizabeth Kubler-Ross; Joseph Campbell; ex-Beatles George Harrison & Paul McCartney; Jean Houston; Richard Bach; David Carradine; Ted Turner; and Dr. Bernie Siegel.
Here is a general comparison chart of some NAM beliefs versus Christianity:
NAM God is an impersonal force.
CHRISTIANITY God is personal. He is our Heavenly Father who loves us.
NAM God is all and all is God. He is part of creation, as are all of us.
CHRISTIANITY God is the Almighty Creator of the universe, and all within it. Man is finite, and one of God’s creations. NAM There is no sin, only misunderstanding of truth.
CHRISTIANITY Rebellion from God is sin. All have sinned, and all must be saved. NAM Man saves himself.
CHRISTIANITY Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sins. Only through faith in Him may man be saved.
NAM Heaven and Hell do not exist. They are states of mind.
CHRISTIANITY There is a literal Heaven, and a literal Hell. NAM Jesus is a man who exemplified “Christ Consciousness, and the divinity that is man.
CHRISTIANITY Jesus is the Son of God, and is part of the triune nature of God.

"Perhaps one of the biggest draws of the NAM (New Age Movement) is the release it provides from personal accountability and responsibility".
Actually it is ALL about personal responsiblity because in contrast to the authoritative mode that depends on external prescriptions and proscriptions, it looks within the person for wisdom because God is believed to lie within each person. Therefore each person is responsible for their own actions.
