Whether the workers realize it or not, the MAJORITY of the mean posters here were reared in a professing home. And most of them heard the workers preach at conventions and meetings. So maybe exclusive doctrine breeds hateful and mean spirited behavior in some people. Maybe they need to dig deeper and examine their preaching style? Kids hearing parents badmouthing other churches in meeting are more likely to be critical as adults whether they profess or don't profess. I know I would have been a better person if I had grown up under solid Christian teaching.

Maybe its displaced anger. Anger for being misled or mistreated and they take it out on the 2x2s in here?

However, I know lots of ex's that don't post on this board and they are all very level-headed and kind. So I think that maybe this board attracts the more hostile ones... the ones that can't let go.

Amen, brother - Most of the miserable exs on this board lead by Brad Lewis would be better off lying on a couch talking to a shrink than singing to the choir on this board.LET GO -like alot of exs who have left this insane board!!Find a new religion like the Catholic Church.

Well...I have been enjoying making bread lately. There is a little verse about a little leaven raises the whole lump. I used two teaspoons of yeast for 2 cups of flour and a1/2 cup of water for a loaf of bread. I sat the yeast in the warm water and let it work a while. Then I put the bread in a large bowl and let the yeast rise over night. Those two teaspoons of yeast worked for the whole loaf! It also says not to eat bread of him with an evil eye. It is a wonderful thing to praise God and honor Him. But is is equally important that the praising completes the individual and that they are empowered. I have lately been finding this in the Anglican church and has been wonderful to hear the voices of prayer.

I don't know about the psychological issues, but I do not about the moral ones. In my experience, it's wrong to say that someone else is responsible for for one's own bad behaviour.

GIT why then the Bible blames the Devil for so many bad things? And why the crusifixion is blamed on Judas? If we accept your way of thinking Jesus in a way comitted suicide.

Mirror, I have to say that these are really interesting questions. I'm both surprised and delighted that these issues have been posted, giving us all the opportunity to engage in something meaningful and beyond personal point scoring.
I'm not sure it is strictly true to say the Bible blames the Devil for bad things. I think the Bible certainly demonstrates the Devil is an influence for evil - prompting evil thoughts, sending evil spirits, and evil speakings. But to the best of my understanding, only on very few occassions are people said to act involuntarily as a result of the Devil's works. I'm thinking at this point, of course, of the devils that entered Legion (and others) requiring the power of God in Jesus to be driven out.
In regards to your comments about Jesus, I think it depends on your point-of-view. From the point-of-view of rational and reasoning creatures, Jesus was murdered ("whom ye slew and hanged on a tree") by the collaboration of Judas Iscariot, the Pharisees, and the Roman authorities. From the heavenly point-of-view, I guess it is true to say (in a sense) that Jesus literally did commit suicide ("you would have no power at all except it were given you from above") in order to satisfy the righteous justice of God - it was a voluntary death.
