Most have dodged this question, perhaps because it doesn't touch upon the spiritual condition of the Pope as much as the nature of salvation. But the question does deserve serious consideration, if not an open and honest answer.

Howdy Bert, Here we are being asked again to give our opinion on whether someone is saved. There is no way that I can determine someone else's salvation, whether currently, or future. A lot of folks who post here are assured of their own salvation, and a lot of folks here appear to be trying to 'work' on their salvation. You could substitute any name or title for the word 'pope' and my answer would be the same. I have no way of knowing..... You didn't give enough possible answers for me to answer the poll. It is like someone saying "is Bert saved". What would be the point of answering that? Scott

I agree with Scott.
It's an impossible question for a human to answer and pointless.

Most have dodged this question, perhaps because it doesn't touch upon the spiritual condition of the Pope as much as the nature of salvation. But the question does deserve serious consideration, if not an open and honest answer. Jesus gave us very good and sound advice on this topic in (Matthew 7:14-20)
when he said, "Beware of false prophets (Priests, Popes, preachers, pastors 2x2 workers) who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. Ye shall "KNOW" them by their FRUITS. Do people gather grapes from thorns-bushes or figs from thistles?
Even so every GOOD! tree bears "GOOD" fruit; but a CORRUPT! tree bears "BAD" fruit. Every tree that bears NOT GOOd frut is hewn down and cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits, ye shall "KNOW" them.
Jesus went on to say on Matthew 24:11, 24 And MANY! false prophets shall arise, and shall deceive MANY! and because of iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that ENDURES unto the end the same shall be SAVED.....
For there shall arise FALSE Christs and false prophets, and shall show GREAT signs! and miracles! in somuch that if it were possible they shall DECEIVE the very Elect.
~~ John the apostle wrote in I John 4:1 Beloved believe NOT every spirit, but "TEST" the spirit whether they are "FROM" God because many false prophets are gone into the world.
~~~ In the book of Revelation we read of John foretold the Everlasting Gospel and the Itinerant preachers of Jesus preached to ALL nations (Revelation chapter 14) calling and pleading...
In Revelation 18:4 I (John) heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come OUT! of her MY PEOPLE! that ye be NOT! partaker of her sins, that ye receive NOT her plagues! (Rev. 16) For her sins have reached unto heavens, and God has remembered her iniquities. Reward her even as she has rewared you, and double unto her double according to her works....
Revelation 18:20 Rejoice! over her thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets: for God has avenged you on her.... Revelation 19:1,2 ... for true and righteous are His jugdments; for he has judged the GREAT sleeper, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the Blood of his servants at her hand.
~~~ Jesus said in Matthew 15:12-14 EVERY plant which my heavenly Father has NOT planted shall be rooted up. Let them alone: they be BLIND leaders of the Blind. And if the BLIND leads the BLIND, both shall fall into the Ditch.Is Nathan indicating that he is saved? Or is Nathan pointing out himself?

Nathan, I would wonder if the Pope doesn't say the same thing.
I would wonder if many people don't say the same thing.

Bert has already told us he is not saved, but is hoping he will be. E

Bert, if you want more responses you might consider offering more options, i.e.:
1. I have no idea 2. I do not know, but I believe it is possible he is saved
I would vote option 2 above.

saved from what?
yeah, I know what you mean, of course. But remember, this is a Christian concept that does not relate to most of the people on earth. You're likely to get blank stares if you pick a few random people on earth and ask this question.
Meaning, of course, that you cannot get an unbiased answer. Most anybody who knows what you mean "knows" also that they're goin' to heaven and anybody who doesn't agree with them is goin' to the bad place.
answer: most definitely, the Pope is saved from whatever he believes about Hell.

I honestly do not know. God has permitted the institution of the Roman Catholic Church to continue for a long time; and who knows the mind of God, save God Himself?
All I know is this:
I long with ALL MY HEART that the Pope and every single Roman Catholic will be in heaven one day. I yearn for the salvation of all. And this I believe is how it should be.
I do find comfort in thinking the Pope might be saved.

I do find comfort in thinking the Pope might be saved. Seriously, this matter of contemplating eternity can be very stressful and depressing for caring people, until it is somehow overcome. I've been there, and dealt with the depression. There is no one who has ever lived that deserves the kind of eternal torture that is described in the Bible. How does one harden oneself to the point of not caring about others, so that you can love a God that would do such a thing? I do not understand how people can go a lifetime believing in a loving God and ALSO believing in eternal Hell.
