7. Submit yourself to the authorities. In this order of authority so you must submit: Firstly to God; to Christ; and to the Holy Ghost (for these Three are One); next to the Bible which is the word of God; after that, to the Ministers who are sent by God; then the Elders of the churches anointed by God; and your brothers and sisters called and sanctified by God - IN THAT ORDER, so you must submit! And you will surely be set on the right path again. **** GIT, do you think you are worshipping your ministers? They are human. They can't turn water into wine or raise the dead. How about other preachers in so called worldly churches? Are they called and sent? I wished you could see beyond the boundaries of your little church group.

We don't claim to turn water into wine, do your ministers? Do we believe other ministers are called and sent? Depends if they are following the example of Christ's ministry. And yes, I often see beyond the boundaries of our little church - recently I was reading about lesbian ministers in the Anglican church and the Uniting Church's new inclusive policy on active church homosexuals.

Bert, What scripture are you using for supporting Christ's ministry? Would you be so kind as to provide Book, Chapter and verses.

Bert, where do we see that the requirement fro a preachers of the Gospel is to follow Christ's example. For a start, the workers do not follow Christs' example. He did not send women, he instructed them to heal the sick, not to take purse etc. The workers send women, they do not heal the sick, the take money etc. So the workers do not follow Christi's example. and even if they did it would not be the mark of a true preacher. Anyone can copy someone;'s example. A true preacher would be one who preached the Gospel message, not some man made effort to copy his example. The message, not the method.
What is the Gospel to you? To me, the gospel is the life,, death and resurrection of Jesus. The shedding of his blood for our forgiveness of sins. When we accept Jesus as our savior, the Holy Spirit comes in and gives us power to overcome.

Christ said, Come and follow me.
Christ did not say, Come and follow the workers.

Quote - "What scripture are you using for supporting Christ's ministry? Would you be so kind as to provide Book, Chapter and verses." John the Baptist's and the Apostle's ministry is also a part of what we would call "Christ's ministry." This is covered in Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, The Acts, Paul's letters and is hinted at Peter, Revelations etc.
Quote - "For a start, the workers do not follow Christs' example. He did not send women," True. Jesus sent out 12 male apostles who represented the 12 tribes of Israel. We have no idea who were the 70, but the names of half a dozen women preachers is preserved in the NT."
Quote - "he instructed them to heal the sick..." Did he say to heal the sick physically or spiritually? Did John do any miracle? How many of the ministry did miracles in the NT?
Quote - ", not to take purse etc." This is covered so many time on the TMB....
Quote - "Anyone can copy someone;'s example. A true preacher would be one who preached the Gospel message, not some man made effort to copy his example. The message, not the method." Actually, it is quite hard to follow Christ's example because it involves the doing of things, not just the preaching. Would you call Paul's ministry and churches "man made" (they actually were, by definition?) And Jesus and his church were as precise about Method as were the preachers of the OT.
Quote - "What is the Gospel to you? " The story of the Good News about Jesus Christ.
Quote - "To me, the gospel is the life,, death and resurrection of Jesus. The shedding of his blood for our forgiveness of sins. When we accept Jesus as our savior, the Holy Spirit comes in and gives us power to overcome." Overcome what?

Where did you come up with the 12 apostles representing the 12 tribes of Israel?

Quote - ", not to take purse etc." This is covered so many time on the TMB.... What do you think of Jesus words in Luke 22:35-36?[/i]
