It finally hit me why GiT's posts are so irritating... He isn't talking to you... He's talking AT YOU... Every single one of his posts is written and framed in the context and method of formal debating. He is responding to people's posts by turning and talking to the readers instead of talking to the person he's responding to... as if he is in a formal debate... and as if the other poster is simply a specimen to talk about... Here are a few examples from just one of his posts...
I almost laughed out loud, and my version of smile (a grimace) crossed my craggy features when I read this.
Yet textual criticism and critical methologies was one of my best subjects at college, and one which I have re-visted in my postgraduate studies.
Generalisation, thy name is empty thought.
Not yet a monosyllabic response from our anonymous critical thinking expert. But is this "effective communication"? Only to the dimwitted crowd who feast upon one-worder responses as pithy, deep and meaningful.
He constructs his posts as if he were still back at school and trying to win one for the debate team... GiT, Please do a better job at talking to whom your responding to... it will go a long way to removing the label of intellectual elitistism that has been attached to you and your posts...

Brian H. We finally figured your posts out too. You're a spiritual bully. Edy (Syvestra) wrote this on the Sam Jones thread. The term "spiritual bully" fits you perfectly.
Has anyone ever heard of an "knowledge addict"? It is someone to whom sharing their own knowledge makes them feel good, gives them a "fix". When someone is an addictive personality, knowledge can be to them what food, alcohol, drugs, etc. are to other addictive personalities.
Unfortunately, only the one pouring out the knowledge is getting the fix, and those receiving the "knowledge" miss it entirely.
In frustration, the addict becomes extremely forceful, and often aggresisve, hateful, bitter, and angry in the delivery. This is sometimes called "spiritual bullying" by therapists. There are, in my opinion, a number of people on the Boards that this could apply to.

Commenting on GiT's writing style and posting a thread on figuring out why GiT's posts were so irritating means I'm bitter, angry, hateful, and have become extremely forceful and aggressive? Sorry, but I don't buy your physcobabble...
