when daddy tells me what pleases him, and what don't, i don't explain it. i just listen.
blasphemy is usually committed when someone is accusing someone else of it.

I don't mind the arguing over and over. That is called debating and it can be productive if done with some respect. What is sickening is the petty little criticisms, personal attacks and rumor spreading. This could be a good board if people would act like adults. I doubt if God hates this board as I can't imagine he would be against a healthy discussion and debate about how to live according to the Bible. I do think he hates the personal attacks and insults.

It's a waste of your time.

One of the reasons some of the topics seem to cycle is because new people come. Then everything is re-re-rehashed.
I get sick of the attacks and pettiness as well. I really enjoy when we can have civil "conversations"... even if we dont agree!

Did you know that there are simular boards for ex-Mormons, JWs, and a few other groups? I've taken a few brief looks at them. Some of you may be more familiar with them than I. Do these other ex-sites display as much rancor and bitterness as does TMB? Or are ex-2x2s more cantankerous than exes from these other groups?

Lloyd doesn't understand so just ignore him. He thinks the books are the real thing. I have read them and they are just books.

Some other religous sites are worse then the 2x2..I think some JW sites are pretty harsh & such

las stands for Lloyd A Swanson...... when a person puts logged out after their name it usually means they are not logged in under the registered name. If you put the same name when you are not logged in and someone is registered with that name the board will not accept the name. So if he is not logged in uses las he has to put las and something else so what is beter than las logged out.

You claim to know the mind of God? That borders on blasphemy. A true Christian must know something of the mind of God. Without some knowledge of the mind of God there will be no understanding of God's will or of His plan for our lives. We might as well be led blindly by such as the Workers, Pope, some obscure Imam or even Jim Jones for all that matters if we do not have some understanding of the mind of God and His plan for us. This can come only from God Himself through Faith by prayer and study of the Word, not via Chanting or Works or drinking Kool Aid. -sbb- The American Heritage Dictionaryblasphemy1) a. A contemptuous or profane act, utterance, or writing concerning God or a sacred entity. b. The act of claiming for oneself the attributes and rights of God. 2) An irreverent or impious act, attitude, or utterance in regard to something considered inviolable or sacrosanct. Columbia Encyclopediablasphemy In religion, words or actions that display irreverence toward or contempt for God or that which is held sacred. Blasphemy is regarded as an offense against the community to varying degrees, depending on the extent of the identification of a religion with the society at large or the government. Sedition, an attack on the sovereign, is thus analogous; both it and blasphemy can be seen as subversive of order and authority. Heresy, on the other hand, is a matter of competing claims for doctrinal correctness; the dominant (orthodox) faction, however, often defines the heretic as blasphemous. Blasphemy has been a crime in many religions and cultures, wherever there is something sacred to protect. Socrates was prosecuted for blasphemy, and Mosaic law prescribed death for cursing the name of God. Jesus was tried for blasphemy, while Christians regarded the action of the Jews in trying him as itself blasphemous. Roget's II Thesaurusblasphemynoun1) An act of disrespect or impiety toward something regarded as sacred: desecration, profanation, sacrilege, violation. 2) A profane or obscene term: curse, epithet, expletive, oath, swearword. Blasphemy is considered the only unforgivable sin, and that only if you die a blasphemer against God Himself. -sbb-

i didnt take time to explain my thoughts when i started this thread. i was thinking "God hates this", and it wasn't the board, per se, but it was the many things many have pointed out. i think we each want to be heard, and be the one thats brings us all together, but that takes all of us, and we all know how that works.

What does 'drinking Kool Aid' have to do with anything? Ask Jim Jones and his followers. Oh yeah, their dead. It wasn't Kool Aid. Like the people you accuse of "drinking the Kool Aid", you too have fallen into the role of sheep and blindly quote in error. People with your through process are the same ones who did end up dead in Jonestown.

We know it had cyanide in it and when popular culture refers to "drinking the koolaid" it is in regard to Jim Jones and the Temple of Doom !! Quit picking my nose please !! I guess you only know what you read eh?
