Many o/s have already written letters and made public promises on the proper handling of CSA/SA.
Some haven't even bothered yet, even though it is about 6 months after the Dean Bruer debacle opened up the tsunami's of scandal upon scandal.
But how many, if any, of them have proven their word is good?
Some have written these letters, which on face value, was impressive. Yet they acted on well-known CSA/SA only after pressure was put on them.
Is there at least one or two overseers out there that we can say has truly seen the light and deal with matters of CSA/SA according to scripture?
If there is/are, we can put them on a roll of honour. Let's give credit where it's due.
The others... well, it seems that list would simply be too long! Let's rather concentrate and focus on the positive.

Alas, but I think what we are seeing is, as you say, a result of pressure, and doing what seems to be the legal minimum. I also see evidence of legal advice in the framing of one or two letters I have seen.
In the past, I have said, "credit where credit is due", but I'm not seeing that from the oversight yet.

Several sex offenders in New Zealand have been asked to not attend meetings or social gatherings of the friends.
That's not easily done, because typically half the friends support perpetrators and half the friends support victims.

Okay that's one verse I've never heard of. So much of scripture like this though. It's probably believed to be a metaphor... I decided a long time ago that the Christian god was not a god I could obey and worship. I still believed in him and that he was still sending me to hell for not worshipping him, but truly, how could I when so much of what I was reading was deplorable conduct for a human never mind a so call all loving god.

According to WHOSE interpretation of WHAT scripture? What a mine field. The veil was supposedly rent in twain, the open door policy to come unto HIM. With whatsoever ye shall ask .... empty promises Oh, that's right .... if you don't agree with my or your favorite preacher/workers interpretation, then clearly you aren't hearing very well what God has to say ... the accusation Christians constantly hurl at each other? Blind leading the blind. No wonder the legal system is the one gravitated to in spite of their problems, learning curve, and missteps.
