We have a question about Claude McHenry (sp?). We remember he used to picket the Buttonwillow and Gilroy convention grounds in California. The story always was that he was crazy but now some of us are wondering if he was actually on to something and trying to do the exact same thing of exposing all that is happening now. Does anyone here (e.g. CherieKropp, others?) happen to remember hearing anything about him years ago, and the issues that were of concern to him?

Convention Grounds Picketed. Cecil Claude McHenry, born in 1921, was one of three professing brothers from Prescott, Arizona, US. He became very upset when he learned in the early 1950s that the 2×2 Sect had assumed the name Christian Conventions, and that it had been started by a man at the turn of the 20th century. An elderly Worker confirmed to him this was true. McHenry was excommunicated in 1959 per Tharold Sylvester’s orders.
I guess going back to that era, we can see the deceptions that were necessary to cover up the fact of the founder William Irvine and that this led to a culture of subterfuge. It's easy to imagine that this culture of deception about the beginnings of The Truth, and the effort invested by the leaders in maintaining the subterfuge, have likely enabled much of the CSA. CSA that thrives in an atmosphere of deception and secrecy.
Interesting and significant history.

These were some of the original overseers from Ireland, and they were so corrupt and immoral that they would lie and scheme, developing false accusations to get somebody honest about the history put in prison or a mental hospital. Just like CSA cases, the first time this comes to light is not the first time it happened. How many people were falsely imprisoned by the workers that we will never know about? And what do they do today? There are professing doctors, therapists, even police officers under the thumb of the workers. We know that Truth is unchanging and Gods own way abides the same. Surely they continue to frame and set up those who oppose the cult or refuse to obey. I'm especially worried for people like Sheri, Cynthia, Lauren. There is simply no doubt that this is an incredibly dangerous cult. Any decent person needs to leave NOW and get far away.

When they start to have strong manipulative influence over people with professional careers, it becomes more like a type of mafia. Maifa: noun * an organized international body of criminals, operating originally in Sicily and now especially in Italy and the US and having a complex and ruthless behavioral code. * any organized group using extortion and other criminal methods. noun: mafia; plural noun: mafias "the rise of criminal mafias" * a closed group of people in a particular field, having a controlling influence. noun: mafia "the top tennis mafia"

I do know that those who are bringing charges against these people are definitely afraid.

I remember when I was a kid, he picketed the Santee Convention grounds. He would also put stuff on peoples windshield. They always told everyone to not read any of that garbage (whatever it was) and burn it. I remember my dad trying to read it just out of curiosity when we got home, and my mom reprimanded him and told him to throw that garbage in the trash!

That would be a fairly typical scenario, I imagine. A part of our collective history growing up as kids in "meetings"

I remember my dad trying to read it just out of curiosity when we got home, and my mom reprimanded him and told him to throw that garbage in the trash! Edmonton, AB. Circa 1995. Workers in our home after the Special Meetings that year, recounting (with no little self-satisfaction) how some "bitter exes" had placed pamphlets on the windshields of people attending the meetings. And how a couple of the workers stymied their efforts by gathering them all up before the attendees came out after the meetings. My reaction? I wondered why they would not just hold a meeting and openly and clearly refute the supposed "lies" in those pamphlets. To my mind, that would completely take away any of the power that those "bitter exes" apparently held. Yep. I was that naive. I really was.
