To the extent there is a "response" to the crisis, it continues to focus mainly on "awareness" through training using Ministry Safe. It is useful to go to the Ministry Safe website and read about exactly what it is and how it is intended to be used. It is a "safety system" that contains 5 parts. The creators of the system make clear that the five parts are intended to be used in concert, and that an effective child safety program depends on all 5 parts. These five parts are 1) awareness training, 2) skillful screening processes, 3) policies and procedures, 4) background checks, and 5) monitoring and oversight. ministrysafe.com/the-safety-system/I have only heard of Part 1 being implemented by any workers. Have any other parts been implemented anywhere? The questions is somewhat rhetorical because I do not think there is a sufficient organizational infrastructure in place to implement the necessary changes.

There probably isn't enough staff to do it properly. But having said that, they sure do know how to micromanage all other aspects of the friends lives so maybe? I think some places have asked Cynthia to do a check on a list of convention goers. I read that in the listening tour that 1chinesewhispers posted recently. So hopefully more will start doing background checks etc.

We have supplied visiting workers lists to law enforcement . I will tell later exactly what happened with Kingsley Stone . We had another example of a worker being sent back to his country of origin . It may be a week or so . Mind is just not capable enough presently . This is a time out for me . For my mental health . Ttyl I perceive that you are wise in your care for yourself. That is good.

I've only notice the "Awareness" part being emphasized and implemented. Observing the Warning Signs is a good start, but I'd like to see more details. The important stuff is often found in the fine print.
