This guy handled it well. Having a big heavy bike is an advantage. When they come at you from 90 degrees, there is not much you can do. I find it is better to speed up vs slow down when you see a deer heading towards you. The faster you go gives you an advantage in out maneuvering them (relative speed advantage). If on a paved road then aim for their rear end, as they don’t have enough traction on a paved to quickly change directions. Avoid dawn & dusk, that’s when they are on the move.

I find depending on the road, anything over about 100 mph is unsafe. Things go by very fast past 100 mph. At one time I would ride to Newfoundland where there is almost no one around, just to ride all day around 140 mph. I would ride in mph what the sign said in kph and that wasn't really very fast. Only by a lot of luck did I survive those days. As the saying goes: There are old bikers and bold bikers, but no old bold bikers. Later in life, I got my need for speed satisfied by flying sport aviation and in airshows. It's about the same except a little faster and more g's. Now days I have slowed down. I spend more time smelling the roses. Be safe,

If you hadn't had a decent skill set, and been thinking about your riding and environment every second that you were out there doing it, the results would be different today. It wasn't Jesus that kept you safe, it was you. I have also slowed down with age & enjoy smelling the roses now. Incedentally the guy in the clip is NZ's most talented real road racer (a track or circuit created by closing existing streets or roads) an is like a son to me. This could be more fun than arguing with an idiot, thanks for the diversion wally.
