War results in needless deaths. I doubt many Veterans would suggest otherwise. I'm glad for the brave men and women who are willing for this undertaking, in the service of a higher good and in the pursuit of peace. We would do well to watch the Twin Towers collapse to remind us. I showed my class the footage from 9/11 today. Some of them were 1, 3 and 4 years old on that day.

Not unique to "America" at all. The Good Book says there is a time for war and a time for peace. Peace is achieved and maintained through strength. Is it sad when troops die? Sure is. That is why we have set aside a day to remember them and their sacrifices.

Sometimes there is a good reason for war, but for a very long time the USA just wastes money, it killes and maimes innocent soldiers for no good military reason.
Just look at the economics of the war in Afghanistan. The USA could have given each Afgan 165 years of income.
Population of Afghanistan is: 40 million Cost of US Afghanistan war: 2.5 Trillion Afghanistan per per-capita income of $378 The USA spent about $62,500 per Afgan

That's $2 per day, per working person. The USA would still be the big spender. Today -------- FY2021 Defense budget is $753 billion / year The US controls about 750 bases, in 80 countries. The US spends more on its military than the next 10 countries combined.

That is the reason we are still free. Dropping down to a pitiful 100 billion would only encourage our enemies. China in 2020 spent roughly 252 billion so taking us below that would be foolish and dangerous. Is that the plan?

Our military spending needs to be proportional to the size of our population and economy. China has many more people and will soon have the worlds largest economy.

The greatest threat to the USA lately has been from within.

This day will be taught as a great moment to the American institution in schools for generations to come.

You don't take over a country of 320 million with fire extinguishers and pepper spray.

You don't take over a country of 320 million with fire extinguishers and pepper spray. January 6th 2020 was the fixed date for the states to cast their votes. This is why the insurrection was on Jan 6th. Counting Electoral Votes: An Overview of Procedures at the Joint Session"The Constitution and federal law establish a detailed timetable following the presidential election during which time the members of the electoral college convene in the 50 state capitals and in the District of Columbia, cast their votes for President and Vice President, and submit their votes through state officials to both houses of Congress. The electoral votes are scheduled to be opened before a joint session of Congress on January 6, 2021. Federal law specifies the procedures for this session and for challenges to the validity of an electoral vote." 3 U.S. Code § 15 - Counting electoral votes in Congress"Congress shall be in session on the sixth day of January succeeding every meeting of the electors. The Senate and House of Representatives shall meet in the Hall of the House of Representatives at the hour of 1 o’clock in the afternoon on that day, and the President of the Senate shall be their presiding officer...."
