😆 I suppose you're right. I'm so used to hypocrisy by both right and left, it shouldn't surprise me. The right moaning about abortion while denying social programs to benefit children and denying free and affordable contraception... I find that more repulsive than anything AOC has done. That's to your credit. Also to ipsedixit's credit is where he said this:
"You know I accept the evidence for institutional racism. I've posted a list of examples that I find appalling. The gender gap (for a variety of reasons) is another issue that's real. I've seen it directly, and have advised a lady who was a victim of it to immediately contact HR, renegotiate her salary or resign and sue. She did, and her resulting salary outstripped her less qualified and frankly less competent male counterparts. But I know it's a systematic problem."

AOC is just another pretty face with a head filled with nonsense... Typical sexist remark, wally and all the more so because you do not even realize that it is sexist and you will deny it is sexist! Well at least you can laugh about it instead of screeching...

This is the result of being raised to believe in a set of values that by "no coincidence" promotes such systemic impasses -- whether they like it or not. It's the oxymoron of "American ingenuity".

In all honesty, I believe AOC is extremely intelligent, but is falling victim to the political theater that people enter into when they feel like they are fighting a losing battle. She's a self-described socialist, and views capitalism as "irredeemable".
I agree with her on very little, but since her stance is supporting abolishing US Immigration and Customs entirely, I would at least respect her if she seemed remotely disturbed by the actual border crisis under Biden as she did under Trump.
I agree with her on ending the privatization of prisons though.
Very bright, but working within a political system that is far from what she wishes. Irredeemable in distance, it could be said. And her hypocrisy disgusts me quite as much as any form.

People should be appreciative of the fact that she is working within the system, rather than storming the capital to unseat the government. Her kind are the only ones who are going to change anything you found systematically racist in the society -- believe it or not.

I agree with you there. The major responsibility of the citizenry is to elect representatives who advocate for their interests. There are many other small things though - I sat and watched the other day wondering how many people would donate to a drug rehab campaign outside a local gas station. In about a dozen, I was the only one who did. I don't say that to brag (I only donated $10 after all), but to suggest that any time you go in to a store and see a charitable donation opportunity, find something you were doing to buy, put it back on the shelf and donate that amount to the charity. If someone is taking signatures for a petition, actually listen and sign if you agree. Mostly, vote in local elections. (I'm a hypocrite here, and this is an area I need to work on).

It's possible that the lack of news coverage post-Biden has caused her to stop focusing on the border as well. I like her Green New Deal, IF (and only if) nuclear is included. Otherwise it's a pipe dream and will sink any country that tries it so they won't be able to achieve it anyway. (Could be wrong, just my opinion)

The American criminal justice system holds almost 2.3 million people in 1,833 state prisons, 110 federal prisons, 1,772 juvenile correctional facilities, 3,134 local jails, 218 immigration detention facilities, and 80 Indian Country jails as well as in military prisons, civil commitment centers, state psychiatric hospitals, and prisons in the U.S. territories. -Prison Policy Initiative About 200 prisons are privately run Here: recordsfinder.com/inmate-search/type/private-prisons/About 130,000 prisoners are in private prisons I don't know if it is that LARGE of a problem....

She'll never get everything that she proposes, any more than any one else will. And she'll never get anything a majority will vote for. But someone has to be a big enough voice to make known the problems that aren't being addressed. She's not nearly as dangerous to the country that she is out plotting with people to storm the capitol and disrupt the democratic process -- like some of her "conservative" colleagues.

True - makes me think of how improvements in religious organizations come about not by some revelation by those who are beneficiaries of the system, but by the loony fringe folks. Course the loony fringe folks on each side seem scarier to the opposing side. The "pretty face, empty head" - I can't get behind that analysis. The head part anyway - her IQ likely outstrips 90% of this board. Double major, top 20% ish of graduating class. I remember the left using that insult against Sarah Palin back in '08. She was the loony right wing version of AOC - nowhere near as dumb as the opposition claimed, but not exactly the best either.

I often think of the people who have been booted from the 2x2's over the years for breaking some of the unwritten "non-rules" -- only to discover years later that their offense had been taken off the list of accepted taboos. In politics such leaders sometimes get celebrated later on, but NEVER among the 2x2's. The best they can hope for is to confess and never mention it.

Meanwhile, Mexican Drug Cartels are shooting across the border into the US at a customs station. Expect the DOJ to step up sensitivity training for Border Patrol agents.

General Milley called his counter part in china and said he was gonna warn china if we were going to attack....The book reportedly states that Milley told Zuocheng: "Gen. Li, you and I have known each other for now five years. If we're going to attack, I'm going to call you ahead of time. Adding: "It's not going to be a surprise." Source: Bob Woodward and Robert Costa's book called Peril soon to be released? And Biden the yokel he is put him in charge as The 20th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Lets see if the Left have enough balls to take him down and at least put him in prison. Biden didn't put him in charge. Trump nominated him for a 4 year term in 2018 and he was confirmed by a Republican Senate. The Secretary of Defense and outgoing Chairman warned Trump against hiring Milley. Trump didn't listen to them, and took his instruction from Jesus instead. Regardless of who appointed him his acts of treason have taken place under Biden. Failing to remove Milley appears to be condoning his acts of Treason. Who tells your enemy your will notify them when the high command is ready to attack. Benedict Arnold falls in this category. Planned to give to the British the plans for West Point (later called West Point) and severely weakened its defenses to make it easy for a British assault. Arnold's spy was captured and hanged. Benedict escaped. What should be done with Milley?

Its called democracy... People have a right to make their voices heard, especially when the people who represent them are in the process of validating a fraudulent election.
Treason is betraying one's country, that includes counting fake votes. In the eyes of the protestors, the only treason that occurred on Jan 6th is what took place in the halls of congress.

There is your definition of "treason!" You are so ill informed of the Capitol event. What Trump said was go down to the Capitol and make your voices heard. Few people knew that Trump had asked if the the National guard would be needed because the crowd was going to be large. Also the FBI had plants in the crowd to work with ANTIFA in stirring up the crowd. There were people in the crowd dressed as Trump supporters and when given the opportunity they changed clothing, planting explosives nearby--videos show this. The FBI had said to the public later that they were going to investigate the whole incident but when they discovered that some of their own people were involved the public report then became: "We find no reason to believe that this was an organized insurrection." Nancy Pelosi had dismissed the report she had earlier received that there could be trouble. The Seargent's At Arms in both House and Senate were told to not be concerned. Now it seems that Pelosi was the main traitor here. There is so much more to say about the whole incident. What the Dems can't get over to this day is that know, that the conservatives know the election was rigged and stolen. Arizona's audit had proven that there were multiple election violations. That case is now in the hands of AZ Attorney General. Texas, Georgia, Pennnsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, New Hampshire and likely more states are looking into elecion violations. The Supreme Court only said of the whole thing: "You, (Trump's legal team), have no standing here"; meaning this case belongs to the states and their courts. When cities were burning all over the country Trump ask Milley if an insurrection should be declared his answer was no. Traitors behave that way. The whole country was burning--Seatte, Portland, Los Angles, Milwaukee, Kenosha, Chicago, New York, Baltimore, Atlanta--and Millley said "No, there is no insurrection going on here" To me that is what traitor mentality is. Chttps://www.americastribune.com/post/proof-the-storming-of-the-capitol-was-staged-by-dems-and-antifa-to-blame-trump-and-his-supporters. that is the evidence of traitor mentality.

We have been though all this before, Dan.
Even if "protestors" believed that there was problem with the election, -that is NOT the way a democracy of 'law & order" takes care of problems!
Just for one minute, Dan; -would you just do this; -stop & consider that if your neighbor thought you were doing something wrong that hurt him in some way and he decided to get some of his friends together and he would take care of the problem by breaking the windows of your house with your family in it, break down doors all the while yelling "Hang Dan!"
You would be one of the the first to send them all to prison for life!
