you may have heard the saying "professing, but not possessing". it is refering to whether you possess the Holy Spirit, or just profess in appearance only. interesting topic. i guess you could say that i'm possessing with a history of repeated professings.

Professing, but not possessing. In our "circle" this meant you stood up and "claimed" to walk with God, and likely followed through in appearance and routine, but did not really "get it".
For me, this not only defines many people who go to meetings, but also, a lot of those who claim to be Christians (and are not of the 2x2 fellowship).
I'm not perfect, but I have professed that Christ is my King, Savior, and Lord and I was given the Holy Spirit which I know possess (which doesn't mean I'm perfect, because Im definitely not). In the Christian community I now am part of, "professing but not possessing" would mean claiming to be Christian but not actually giving your life to Him, not accepting his mercy/grace/gift, not surrendering... in short, not possessing Christ in your life.

i guess you could say that i'm possessing with a history of repeated professings. You could say that and probably do. Others say "always perfessin' and leavin' and never possessin' the truth."

thats not true. the workers, for some strange reason, have always treated me as greater than them, like i was something very special, like they knew me better than i knew myself.
