For those here who pray: How much time do you spend in prayer/meditation in the mornings/evenings or throughout the day? Is it formal prayer time or more casual--like do you set aside 30 minutes in a specific place or just talk to God as you unload the washing machine? Or both? First thing in the morning or later? Always alone or sometimes with a friend or a family member? (But I'm asking about time apart from any formalized church or meeting.) Not trying to start a food fight, I'm just curious. thanks. peace to all, freespirit

For me it is definitly at night. And then throughout the day I'll talk with Jesus and then little prayers here and there. I do find myself saying "Come Holy Spirit" quite often through the day. I have kids so its needed on a regular basis I do think it is important to set aside formal time for prayer. Especially with children/family. Unfortunatly I dont do enough of that....been trying to work on that lately though. I would really like to incorporate a morning prayer routine. Im just not a good morning person though( I can be quite lazy ) I have a question too. When ya'll pray do you say a particular prayer or just off the cuff? If my memory is correct 2x2's arent too fond of a set prayer (vain repitition?--aside from the Lord's Prayer) Christ's Blessing

My prayer time is often in the context of journalling....prayers and answers...it's like I'm writing to God, and recording His responses to me. That ususally happens most days in the morning (It has become more of a regular appointment with God recently; I used to journal just whenever I could because of my big family.) Sometimes prayer happens while just sitting quietly in the yard..or whenever those peaceful moments can be captured. Sometimes when it isn't peaceful, prayer instinctively happens too.
- Often throughout the day also, just going about daily tasks and activities.
- Often with friends together; sometimes over the telephone; sometimes in the grocery store when a request is made known.
Today some local amateur artists are meeting here with a seasoned artist to pray concerning our creativity and how we can best honor God and others by using that talent.
I love how prayer is a two-way communication with God. Frequently it's just listening for Him and to Him.
Blessings, Linda
