Trump called his laptop "laptop from Hell".
Joe claims he never spoke to his son about overseas dealings.
FBI emphatically says this investigation into Hunter Biden and the "Big Guy" (Joe) is NOT related to Russian interference (ie it's a separate issue entirely.)
"Laptop from Hell" strikes me as odd phrasing. Could be Trump being Trump, but I wonder...
Hunter Biden has multiple "tells" of psychopathic behavior. These are shared by many politicians but throw in his history of addiction and impulsive behavior.
Guess we'll see. Hopefully it's "just" massive corruption.

Have you not considered pre-election trashing? Trump has been depending on Barr and the FBI to "dispose of" his challengers, but it turns out they aren't getting what they need to arrest anyone. It's the same strategy he tried before the last election, but people aren't buying it this time.

It depends where the accusations come from, of course. The real problems with this accusation is the date it came to our attention -- that was predicted the day in 2017 when Trump signed up to run again in 2020. Trump's problem is that he wants people locked up before he can file a legitimate complaint against them.

Hunter however is a different sort of problem. www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnbc.com/amp/2020/01/27/joe-biden-son-hunter-biden-agrees-to-temporary-child-support-for-child.htmlHe married an actress 6 days after meeting her, already having fathered a child with another woman while still with his previous wife. He's free to do all of that - his life. But to me, it suggests highly impulsive behavior (do doubt a result of his tragic childhood - I legitimately feel bad for him!). However, there is (in my mind at least) a very real chance that his decisions and his father's knowledge (to whatever extent) will prove fatal to Biden's campaign. My preferred path would be for Biden to win, what is suspect to prove true, and Biden to resign. President Kamela Harris.

Frankly, even if Hunter Biden WERE running for office, I would bet money he has a cleaner record than Trump.

I would hate to see that happen to all of the Biden family, but Harris could handle it quite well and we would be far better off than to have Trump for another four years.
I really, really do NOT want to see Trump take our country any further down the drain. Between Trump & covid 19, it is going to be long hard road even at best even with Trump gone.
I have never felt this much concern about an election before. From what we are hearing about the large number of people already voting there must be many others who feel the same.

www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/feb/27/hunter-biden-joe-biden-president-business-dealingsThe Gaurdian of all places - they love Biden! What's going on? They're not covering up anything anymore. I guess Trump lost, so the objective has changed. "For Trump, it backfired, when efforts to uncover information about the Bidens and Ukraine helped to trigger his first impeachment. Then came the surfacing of Hunter Biden’s missing laptop, with its library of decadent pictures and business email chains, mysteriously left at a Wilmington repair shop, which found its way to Republican political operatives including Rudy Giuliani and Steve Bannon, plus the rightwing press and the FBI." So.... efforts to fight blatant corruption led to Trump's impeachment. But we all knew as much. Right? Wink wink, nudge nudge. Orange man bad. "On the political flip-side, House intelligence committee chair Adam Schiff said the laptop was a “smear” from Russian intelligence, and 50 former intelligence officials said it was probably Russian disinformation. Now, however, almost no one disputes its authenticity." It was the Russians! Orange man bad!

youtu.be/jkv5xcj1DAQBreaking Points on the 51 intelligence officials who were saying the laptop had the hallmarks of "Russian Disinformation" BEFORE they got bad Orange Man out of office. Now? No comment. Democracy: the government and the press determine what information you get so you know how you should vote. Then we can celebrate the illusion of freedom together. And these are the same intelligence officials who give the press their talking points about other things Russian (for instance... Trump Collusion Hoax) so the American people know what they should think. Helpful buggers they are.

I have to disagree that "the government and the press" determining what information people have, is a principle of democracy. In a democracy, freedom of expression is first of all First Amendment freedom of the press, intending that the media will hold the government accountable to the people. This is why "state media" are frowned upon in democracies because they are normally the voice of autocratic governments. In democracies, it is normal that the rulers consider the media as their critics. Of course, independent media are free to have their individual concerns and objectives.

I agree with you - I was simply lamenting how both political parties have so successfully integrated their interests and talking points in the free press. I wish it were not so - our press is in it for ratings and money. Again, no good answers. I wish there was some way to more clearly delineate between "journalistic fact-based reporting" and "opinion of commentators" in the press. The lines between those have become very blurred, and they transition between each other so seamlessly it is hard to discern.

But point is valid - it's (to some extent) an illusion. You'll get the times where FOX breaks with the Republicans, or when MSNBC breaks with the Democrats - those are the times I pay attention to - the stories I find most compelling.

The lines between those have become very blurred, and they transition between each other so seamlessly it is hard to discern. No problem -- I was onto your track. I think our problem is that most people, in this country anyway, think that news sources are reliable on all matters. In fact, all independent media companies are free to report within their areas of interest and according to their philosophies, or whatever. The majority of them identify for the consumers of their reporting what these orientations are. But we have professed "news" media that do not identify for consumers that they are instruments of special interest organizations, and it's greatly misleading to readers/viewers, etc. Too many people can't distinguish between factual news reporting and opinion-oriented talk shows. I used to get my high school students to listen to the news and count the times they heard people saying "I think ......etc." and they were always shocked. I think some of them had great arguments with their parents, but none of the parents complained to me.

www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/white-house/hunter-biden-laptop-presidennt-joe-tapesHunter Biden brags about his dad doing anything Hunter wants. "He'll talk about anything that I want him to, that he believes in," Biden said in reference to his father, Joe Biden, in the Dec. 3, 2018, recording. "If I say it's important to me, then he will work a way in which to make it a part of his platform. My dad respects me more than he respects anyone in the world, and I know that to be certain, so it’s not going to be about whether it affects his politics.” "All those fears you think that I have of people not liking me or that I don’t love myself … I don't fear that. You know why I don't fear that? Because the man I most admire in the world, that god to me, thinks I'm a god," Hunter Biden added in the 77-minute recording, which was taped about five months before Joe Biden launched his successful 2020 presidential campaign in late April 2019. "And my brother did, too. And the three of us, it was literally — I had the support to know I can do anything." It's one thing to imagine that a corrupt son has influence in their presidential fathers political platform. But Hunter Biden is bragging about it. Imagine if the exact same words came from Eric Trump. Seriously - it would lead every single major news story. And it should! I bet we'd be a little more interested in his board positions, business dealings and monetary kickbacks from Ukraine, China and Mexico if it was a Trump and not a Biden. Especially since we're involved in a proxy war through Ukraine, a border crisis from Mexico and since China is the current #1 geopolitical threat to the planet. And we have a president whose job it is to act on behalf of the American people. Whose son says Joe views him like "a god". Who received money from Ukraine. China and Mexico. And who saved (in at least one deal) 10% for the "big guy" (his dad and president). I mean..

"'Look, I think the American public wants us to move on and get things done for them.'" Ah, the high road. In other news, the January 6th hearings revealed...Trumps taxes......Russia got Trump elected.....Trump walked on the grass with the "Keep off the Grass" Sign in 1992.... Paltry things like illegally acquiring a gun and dumping it in a trash can (https://nypost.com/2022/06/15/hunter-biden-raged-at-hallie-after-she-trashed-his-gun-report/), getting paid by "Spy Chief" Chinese businessman while taking 4.8 million from him in the first two years of Trump's term, while a Chinese secretary told him "Uncle Joe" should run for president (https://www.the-sun.com/news/2844544/hunter-bidens-secretary-flirty-messages-doggy-chain-necklace/, getting paid 50K/month to sit on Burisma's board, while having zero expertise in energy, and a couple of other minor things... (https://www.newsweek.com/video-joe-hunter-biden-corruption-resurfaces-1464726) Good luck, says Biden. I mean, who cares really. It's Biden after all. He's the good guy. He's not Trump, the enemy of democracy and sower of chaos. After 2 years of desperately trying to find a crime to charge Trump with and ignoring the myriad of disasters which have resulted in the incompetence, ask a question about Hunter, and it's "pshaw! Time to move on - stop living in the past." Except that it is the present, and the presidents son has conflicts of interest with the major countries involved in two international calamities. I wonder if Trump ever didn't return a library book? If there's one saving grace for Joe Biden, if he ever gets asked anything about Hunter Biden and whether he, as the "Big Guy" really did get his 10%, he can say "I don't recall that being the case" and "I don't recall ever talking about that". Given that he "doesn't recall" almost everything, it is entirely believable.

Why does Hunter Biden even come into the equation? Trump and his kids owned assets/company together and Trump didn't even give up those interests when he became president. So why is it a big deal if Joe did have business dealings along with his son? I don't understand what the problem is? Why was Trump never made to get rid of his company interests?

Why does Hunter Biden even come into the equation? Trump and his kids owned assets/company together and Trump didn't even give up those interests when he became president. So why is it a big deal if Joe did have business dealings along with his son? I don't understand what the problem is? Why was Trump never made to get rid of his company interests? I believe the concern was that Hunter began to gain positions on boards of foreign companies after his father became VP. The concern is that he was essentially selling access to his father, and when he's entangled in China and Ukraine, there is a conflict of interests - especially now. Trump's children had international businesses far before Trump was president. They may have used the Trump name (which is also a brand), but when they were forming their businesses and making deals, there was no implication that their partners could curry political favor in the US because of the partnership.

Wasn't Ivanka getting publicity through the white house for her Goya food brand? That was while Trump was in power. She was on staff and wasn't supposed to use her position to push her brand. I know there was a bit of uproar about it, but it died down pretty fast unlike this ongoing stuff about Hunter. And Jared certainly got lots of deals with the Saudi's, again through the Trump WH. I don't really see the difference. But I don't know much about why kids have anything to do with it. abcnews.go.com/Politics/ivanka-trumps-social-media-posts-goya-beans-provoke/story?id=71795732
