oh noooooooooooooo reality!!! Don't you know what Godless, spiteful, power-hungry, horrid peopl those nasty workers are???They could not POSSIBLY encourage anyone to follow Jesus or to learn/read the Bible for themselves!! NO WAY!!!! *stunned* [/sarcasm] M. Excuse me for being blunt but you have posted nothing but consistent short smart a_ s remarks. Each time they are in the nature of belittling so called Exes. I am not standing up for the many posts of theirs which do in kind to the workers and friends. I am just noting that for one who has been out of meetings for 16 years you seem to take a very strong stand for the F&W's. Perhaps you really have not left the meetings? If you have perhaps you really should go back as it seems, your posts indicate that you miss it. As to your hubby. I asked that question. Why? I just wondered why most of your post times are between like 1 to 3 AM. Most people are in bed sleeping. My post times are different because I am in England.

Why do you care what people do with their time? when they go to sleep or staying up all night long?Talking to you. They can answer for themself.

Talking to you. They can answer for themself. Do I need your permission to talk to you?I don't think so. Yes you do because you are one of those registered posters who pretend to by something when they are nothing. So next time ask politely and I will consider an answer.

NO WAY!!!! *stunned* [/sarcasm] M. Hi wanttobewithgod, The workers I've known have often said and taught that it is important to read and study to be sure that what they say is so. I was encouraged to dig for truth as I would for hidden treasure. I was taught to trust God, and to believe He heard my prayers...that if I was knocking and seeking, I would find. All of this is very good teaching, which now I can say, is absolutely true. However, when I actually did as I was instructed to do, I discovered that the scripture did not always agree with the "Truth" the workers taught. This was extremely bewildering, and when I sought clarification (not in a challenging way, but in a truly-desire-to-understand way), I found myself in a compromising situation. The workers I spoke to would not hear of ANYTHING from the Bible or anywhere else that opposed what they were teaching. This response to my obedient digging and searching was almost more bewildering than what I had found. If these were the only true messengers of God, wouldn't they want to help me understand my perceived error? Wouldn't they reason with the scripture? But they didn't. They completely rejected anything I had discovered, without even examining the scripture passages. They were abrupt and rigid, clearly unwilling to even consider the possibility of error on their part. As long as a 'professing' one finds no reason to question the f&w beliefs or the responses given them by some of the workers, they will likely never see this side of the story. That's why it's so hard for 'professing' people to believe this happens. Unfortunately, it does...and that forces people to choose between God and man, which in the end is really a good thing anyway. About 8 months ago, I had the most incredible worker visit I've ever had in my life with two sister workers. They listened and heard what I was trying to say. These two women were unlike any other workers I've known. I wept tears of relief for hours after our time together, simply because they were willing to discuss some of the issues with me, and I felt they really cared about what I was saying. I waited 26 years for that visit. It meant so much more to me than they will ever know. My prayer is for more communication like that between workers, friends and exes. Blessings, Linda

Dear Brad,
it is time to remind you of some laws around spritual property and copyright. Nathans Bible with the personal notes is his spritual property, even if sells it or gives it away to others. The person who has bought the Bible is granted the right to use it for his own personal use. Thus, you are not entitled to publish Nathans spiritual property in any form and without his permission.
So please stop this illegal behaviour. If I was Nathan, I would save this thread on my hard disk and take you to court.

Linda, thank you for your (always) kind and thoughtful post. I certainly agree with most of the points you made. To By All Means....yes, I have had snappy remarks lately. I wouldn't say they are anywhere NEAR the degree of smart a@@ as many I see on this board...so why are you so worried about what *I* do? I don't get that. Especially* concerning my bedtime! I have been staying up all night lately, and catching a few hours sleep in the day. For what reason you ask? Well...I guess I just don't really, for some strangggge reason, feel that I need to explain that to you! Even if you did wonder why I was up so late (and I canNOT understand why you do) why ask about my husband?? He's a big boy, and I guarantee you he is just fine...but thanks for worrying anyway. Yes, I do seem to take a strong stand for the F&W don't I? I also say SHEESH! Oh my goodness, burn me at the stake! I have grown very weary of telling the same story of who I am, how long I have been out of meetings, and blah blah blah. It hasn't changed from the last time I said it, and yes, you had it right. I may choose to go back, I may not. Time will tell. I do know one thing though..your opinion on the matter won't sway me one way or another, so you may as well not waste your time with me. (if you stop worrying bout when I post, that may save you some time as well.) (just trying to help of course.) There is more than enough posted by exs on this board (not even nearly all of them bitter...just look at Linda's posts..and many, many others) but many also ARE. I like to counterbalance with a different view is all. That is my reason, it is the truth, and you can take it or leave it as you wish. I really don't have it in me tonight to quibble over it with you to be honest. I would like to cut down on the not so nice remarks as well.....but believe me..for myself, and what I have always been like...certainly not to satisfy you. I don't let to like people bring me down to the level they are at if they choose to wrestle in the mud, and recently I've done that...so I guess you're right on that count. I will attempt to do better in that regard..and to go back to being a nice person like I usually always was. I don't like being this way any more than you do seeing it. Mich

Hi Nathan,
The workers generally encourage questions from "strangers" or new proselytes to the f&w way. And, as long as no one argues with their answers there should be no problem. Sometimes if one of these disagrees with the workers, they are simply told to keep attending meetings where the answers will eventually be revealed to them. As long as they accept this and obey, there should be no problem.
Later though, once one has been indoctrinated and is actively professing, questions are sometimes seen as "walking on thin ice," or "doubting the truth," or attempting to "challenge God's messengers." Of course that isn't always the case. Sometimes questions are received as genuine concerns. Regardless, it boils down to whether or not the inquiry can be satisfied with more meetings, or the workers' authoritative answers.
There was never any other acceptable result to questions, when I was "professing," and many others have had the same experiences. That's why we often say the workers (many) don't like questions. A more accurate statement may be that the workers (many) abhor the fact that we're not satisfied with their answers.
When the answers don't line up with what we read in scripture, we have an obligation to follow God rather than man, don't we?
So, questions seem to be welcome from the workers (many) provided there is complete submission and acceptance that their answers are correct. Otherwise....there could be some serious problems. At least there were when I discovered the Bible didn't agree with their answers to my questions.
Blessings, Linda
