Older workers teach people that when cult followers go into their business, they must sell everything and give it to the poor. People who don't know any better are deceived and do this. There is no scripture to support cult leaders encouraging ignorant listeners to give money to people who make up their own gospel. I got suckered into doing this. Stanley Sullivan tricked me into giving him my money. I wrote him a letter and asked him for this money back, but he hasn't answered me. Have other people looked into this practice too? Brad

I talked to Curtis Jacobsen. It seems that the workers got his money the same way.
Those dirty thieves.

Brad Brad, If I were you, I would meet with a lawyer and have him/her advise you as to how to go about getting your money back. Since you are not the only one who has suffered from this misguidance, there will be plenty of ex-workers who could file a lawsuit with you. Even current workers could be summoned to testify regarding this issue. I am sure they, being as honest as they say they are trying to be, wouldn't lie/deny under oath. Did you keep a copy of the letter you sent. Next time you send it, certify it and get a receipt, to make sure that the intended person gets it. Whoever signs for receipt will witness receipt and delivery. Hope you pursue to recover what you have lost.

I hope all the friends who gave you the money will come forward and ask you to pay them back.... ALL the food that you ate at their table, the money they gave you, charge you for rent, using their cars, gas, etc..That's a good point Nathan. Alll those people were duped by me. They believed I was a servant of God when really I was deceived by idiots. I think all the friends should start charging the workers. Great idea Nathan. I think that's the first good suggestion I've heard you make. Brad

Nathan, Did you sell everything and give it to the workers too? Brad NOPE! I started the work in Washington in 84 and in 86 at Boring... Both times NOT a penny..... because I got rid all of it before I went to Preps.Did you put it in a living trust or were you just broke, or stick it in a bank account for later? Do you think it is wise of workers to ask new workers for their money? Brad

NOPE! I started the work in Washington in 84 and in 86 at Boring... Both times NOT a penny..... because I got rid all of it before I went to Preps. 1) Did you put it in a living trust or were you just broke, or stick it in a bank account for later? ~~~ Sorry, No living trust or stick it in a secret bank account for later.... I just got rid of them as I was told by the workers. Both times I left the work with little money (300 dollars in my wallet).2) Do you think it is wise of workers to ask new workers for their money? ~~ Yes, they should .... Why? the senior worker asked the young workers to start from NOTHING! becasue the Lord Jesus said in (Matthew 6:25-33)... Seek ye First the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things (food, clothing, shelter, money, etc..) shall be given you.
The Lord Jesus has promised that God would take care of his servants.... When you were in the work did you have enough food to eat, clothing to wear, enough money for yourself and many homes where you rest peacefully at nights through the hospitable of the friends' kindness, right?Nathan, You fool. Jesus said HIS servants were worthy of their meat. He never told them to sell everything and give it to the workers. You fool. I was not given everything I needed. You know the biggest things I was missing??? LOVE Yep, that's right. The workers and 2x2s ignore the word of God and pretend to be "nice" to each other. Wow, what a revelation when going into the work and seeing how they really talk about the friends and having your brother worker spend alone time with a woman going through a divorce. We went from house to house. We gossiped. We gave our opinions in place of God's word, we ignorantly preached our own gospel and disagreed about primary doctrine. Hellloooo? The worker's way is for fools. Brad

I guess I am a little confused when I read that "workers deceive to get $$$"
When my Aunt passed away she evidently left quite a bit of money to the workers. My dad was the executor in charge of sending the money to the work. From what he told me, he had some problems giving it away as many workers wrote him back saying that they did not need it. I know that a lot of the money was used to build quarters for the elderly at one of the convention grounds.
