It would seem to me that Paul felt he was led by the spirit prior to his road to Damascus experience. It would seem that some feel that unless you believe and accept what they think has been revealed by the spirit then you are wrong and not being led by the spirit.(At least the spirit they are being led by) Some don't examine whether the revelation is what others have said or a Damascus experience. Kinda contradicts and flys in the face of the Spirit revealing to His people His will! (Which I firmly believe he does and did to Paul.) Some might try to imply that they have a corner on the Holy Spirit. We can rely on Gods promises to all that call on him in sincerity and TRUTH. Those led by the spirit will have works of the spirit. They will display the Love of the Father which they themselves have experienced Jam 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [and] easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
I write this In Love and through the Spirits prodding. Hoping to stimulate the answer to the Question as it applys to your own life. Ken

An interesting question! I'm sure Brad feels he is led by the spirit, as he persecutes the f&w's here. I'm sure fundamentalists feel led by the spirit to defend the literal historic accuracy of the Bible. I'm sure hellfire preachers feel led by the spirit as they condemn "false" religions. I'm sure Paul's followers today feel led by the spirit as they (gently or not) try to persuade women to stay in their place, or gays to quit "sinning", etc. And I feel none of the above are led by the spirit in so doing. Yet I do not deny that all of the above DO feel the spirit; they just get confused about the source of that spirit, or where it leads.
