I accompanied my father to gospel meeting this afternoon. You might say I was filling in for my mother who was under the weather with a bug.
The meeting was conducted by ____ Dolan & ___Foster (sister workers). Their style was low-key. There was no mention of exclusivity, no glorification of the F & W way...nor was there any bashing of "worldly" churches.
Jesus was referred to as the "Son of God" and that only through Him is there salvation.

John, my friend, it is nice that you accompanied your dad to gospel mtg. Your post is probably being ignored because you couldn't come up with anything controversial or negative to say regarding the meeting. Maybe if you keep attending you will find things to find fault with.

Jason is it? I hail from outback NSW. My real name is not Bert (that was given to me by the TMB folk!) When I said I heard the same I didn't mean that I was in the same service! I meant I don't hear church bashing in meetings, nor any self glorification (quite the opposite, actually.) Where I live there hasn't been a gospel meeting for about 30-40 years!

I think it depends where you go and where you live. In this area, you will hear much church bashing and self glorification. Much of the preaching is non-biblical, which was very disturbing to my husband and myself. I noticed it when I moved here when my husband and I got engaged. We moved after we married and returned over a year ago to find, even though the workers had changed out several times, it was still the same message.
I agree, this isn't the message preached everywhere (thank goodness), and am glad that is not the message you received.

John, I can't find the link I had saved which allowed the world to see you in your home. Maybe bert would like to have a face for the name that you used on this post?

Ronald Schneckenberger - Yes, that's exclusivity. We can spend a lot of time arguing over who is "exclusive" and who isn't. But Christianity is quite exclusive, and Jesus more so.

Is this Dolan related to the Dolan's in Wilsonville who were getting divorced a while ago?
Does anyone know also why this poster does not mention the workers names?
Are they ashamed of them?

They did not say that anyone had to agree with or that it reflected anyone else's experience. No need to go off the deep end.
