At the time I started this thread, from the TMB usual fun and games in my attempt to find out where to get a current 2x2 hymn book, it appeared that it was going to be necessary for me to connect with a worker or two to ask THEM where to get their hymn book. If I recall correctly a number of people told you the URL and password where you could order a bible or hymn book. Your inability to follow the instructions does not mean many people did not know how to place an order. After that it just became a game. This failed as well since a few people produced results announcing where they were holding meetings. And this makes little sense. Reading the claim, I took a shot at a random church, one local to someone, and was unable to see any indication of their outreach program. Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church 85 South Oxford Street, Brooklyn, NY 11217 And then I was thinking I had just hit the one church that @gratu had missed so I took another shot. And what did I find? Yet another church without an outreach program on their www site. Hartford Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends 144 S. Quaker Lane West Hartford, CT 06119 Maybe I was lucky two times in a row. So I took another shot and WOW: Third Church of Christ, Scientist Dallas, TX. Nothing about outreach on their site either. Maybe it was an odd 3 times lucky streak. So I decided to waste a few more seconds and... Community of Christ 1001 W. Walnut Independence, MO 64050 Nothing at all on their site about outreach. Is welcoming people to tours of their building and putting on organ concerts considered 'outreach'? And what would these small local churches do for global outreach? Who knows. Maybe @gratu does. Or maybe this was more of a rant against w specific sect. Something that might be expected from Lloyd Fortt. And then, why would @gratu/Lloyd Fortt care if no one could find an outreach program? Just questions.

I tried the first church on your list, Rational and it clearly has join us for worship 11am on Sunday. The address and invitation was clear. Can't get better than that.
I didn't look at the rest as they are clearly not mainline churches.

Is a statement Join us for worship really an outreach that would compare to the concept of gospel meetings - special services conducted with the intent of gaining recruits? Many churches are open to visitors at every service. Perhaps an open invite is outreach but I didn't see it as such. The earlier this summer I saw a little sign that said "Tent Revival Meeting - Every Tuesday at 7:30". The location changed about every two weeks. That I call outreach. The Christian Scientists or Quakers are around the same size as the F&W to keep the comparison fair? Do you feel the F&W is a mainline church? A statement that includes the word "every" is not excluding small or large churches.

At the time I started this thread, from the TMB usual fun and games in my attempt to find out where to get a current 2x2 hymn book (1), it appeared that it was going to be necessary for me to connect with a worker or two to ask THEM where to get their hymn book. So this thread has served two purposes - the first being that TMBers do not know where workers are presently holding gospel meetings. And second that even professing folks are asking the TMBers. Workers have their gospel meetings pretty well hidden from their own people - if - IF they are preaching to "strangers" at all these days. What workers have kept secret historically has been kept secret mainly from their own 'flock.' By contrast, I have not seen one local church of any denominational description that does not provide global up to date information to their congregations regarding their individual outreach missions to “strangers.” (1) - See for yourself post by post: professing.proboards.com/thread/29247/where-obtain-hoGrats, do you mind answering a question? Do you eat rice? Okay that was two questions, but if you answer the second you will also have answered the first.

I do not know of any specific person who attributes such an ad to being the sole reason they came to gospel meetings. I do know of some such people who have accepted invitations from some stranger in person.

Why would you ask that? Why are thinking there might not be anyone who did read one of those ads, -attended the meetings, -professed and "then finished in the Way?"

I guess the trap is what it local for you. I selected a scattered bunch of local (local to someone) church which had no mention on their www sites of outreach to strangers although it was pointed out that some sites did invite people to join them for worship. I guess that could be considered outreach.

In your post you stated: And you are trying to support your claim by pointing out a 'church' that does? Of course, you now change the claims and instead of pointing out a church yoiu have selected a denomination. I quickly disputed your claim by pointing out several that do not. Your searching ability is questionable. I knew exactly what I was looking for - and found several examples. You can continue with this or realize that making global claims without being able to support them will lead to questions. This is sounding more like The Gospel According to Lloyd Fortt.

Actually, grattu, this post of yours in which you continue to assert,
"TMBers do not know where workers are presently holding gospel meetings.Workers have their gospel meetings pretty well hidden from their own people - if - IF they are preaching to "strangers" at all these days. What workers have kept secret historically has been kept secret mainly from their own 'flock,'"
-is simply nothing more than your usual concoction of duct taped scraps of remarks taken out of context to denigrate a whole group of people whom you seem to hate.
I don't know what someone ever did that you would feel this way about a whole group of some very kind people. Whatever it was I hope you can get over it because it apparently seems to be eating you at you in a terrible way and that is a terrible condition to be in.
