Vernon V. Starns died peacefully in his home at age 90. He was born in Oberline Kansas on September 26, 1929 to Theron and Ruth Starns. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his wife Sharon Starns and his children, Gary (Lynda) Starns, David (Melanie) Starns, Rochelle Starns, his step children Tab (Carol), Greg (Shannon), Temi, Terri (Jerry), nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, his sister Sara Starns, sister-in-law Joan, and several nieces and nephews.
Vern started at a very young age working at his father’s refrigeration repair shop. He developed great electrical skills and later helped wire some of the first homes in Eastern Colorado. He went on to work at several other occupations and developed several skills along the way. In 1955, he worked for General Electric steam cleaning and inspecting motors, generators, locomotives, and transformers. In 1972, he was promoted to Winder of DC coils, motors and armatures of large sizes. In 1975, he took training to work in large steam generation and became a Generator Specialist. Later he left G.E. and he and two partners started their own company called Power Generation Specialists. He worked there until retirement.
Vern's life was finally fulfilled when he and Sharon submitted their lives to faithfully serving God.
