Isn't blasphemy stating there is no GOD? Would it be possible for a person who has blasphemed the Holy Spirit to ever profess again? Wouldn't it be very sinful to encourage or try to help a blasphemer understand the Bible when blasphemy is the only unforgivable sin? Maybe that's why TONS of professing people left this board.

Mat_12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. no once you do the deed its over for you.... not sure everyone understands it either, its speaking out against the HS or denying that the HS ever existed AFTER you have known him... but rest assured you don't get to heaven by accident neither will you go to hell by accident.... once we were in a hospital emergency room and the cops brought in a man screaming he had blasphemied it was horrible to say the least he was probably drunk or on drugs but it was still horrible nonetheless....i say you'll know it if you do it....

Here is what I found. Bible Leviticus 24:10-16 "And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him" Islam Suran An-Nisa 4:140-145 "And it has already come down to you in the Book that when you hear the verses of Allah [recited], they are denied [by them] and ridiculed; so do not sit with them until they enter into another conversation. Indeed, you would then be like them. Indeed Allah will gather the hypocrites and disbelievers in Hell all together" Hindu No one authority in Hinduism, hence no common consensus on 'blasphemy'. There is no one jealous god. Secular Blasphemy is a Victimless Crime

The example of blaspheming the Holy Spirit was where those who said that Jesus was casting out demons by Beelzebub. That was blaspheming the Holy Spirit because the Spirit Jesus had in him was the Holy Spirit, which he had without measure. So would saying there is no God be blaspheming the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit IS God or without God there'd be no Holy Spirit?

II John:9-11 Whosoever transgresseth and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him 'God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

There'd be no Holy Spirit if there was no God, for the Holy Spirit is emanated from the Father and The Son.

"Blasphemy" is a legalism word used for anything considered taboo religious talk -- thus allowing for punishment. And as is the case with obscenity, it first must be culturally defined in order to appropriately punish people saying it.
