The question remains about how much support he has retained in the states he won by less than 1.5% which includes Florida, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. And if he has gained anything in Minnesota and New Hampshire.
Obama barely won Indiana and North Carolina in 2008 only to lose both states in 2012. In 2000, George W Bush won New Hampshire but lost it in 2004 while he did gain New Mexico in its place.
It is the economy that gets presidents axed or reelected.
