So no-one can answer this question?
Question 1: is this author Telling The Truth? Question 2: would this author be a Disciple of Hitler?
Amazing. I seriously worry for you guys. question 1: the author would be omitting some facts if he just printed what you posted earlier question 2: if he just printed those positive things you posted then he probably is a disciple
Sounds like we're rapidly opening up another pit of ignorance of professional research.

Each party in any debate will accuse the other of "Confirmation Bias?" So how to tell? See who has the greater reluctance to answer questions. Bert -- judging from the questions that you are asking, you are informed enough in that kind of research to know what questions to ask. As I say about myself sometimes: I don't know enough about that matter to ever know what questions to ask. We know what you want to know. Problem is, you normally need a university course to understand how you hand that kind of literature.

Sometimes when someone answers a question with a question, they're trying to figure out exactly what you're talking about.

The question again
Imagine: Someone writes a book on Hitler. They present the "facts"
Hitler established the world's first modern road network Hitler ended the death, poverty and humiliation of the Versailles Treaty Hitler established the modern space industry. Hitler hugely advanced the modern film industry Hitler advanced the Olympic Games. Hitler loved animals and was the first to regulate hunting seasons, declared some species endangered and mandated better education about the environment. Hitler gave his country the "people's car" Hitler inaugurated anti-smoking for public areas Hitler wanted a united Europe - free from war Hitler prevented Germany from going Communist. Had Germany gone Communist its alliance with Russia would have spread Communism to the whole world. Hitler fought Stalin - his real enemy. Hitler attempted to broker peace with England Etc..
Imagine: this author, like Basil, doesn't mention the war. Imagine: this author loves Nazis and despised those who opposed them, without really saying so.
Question 1: is this author Telling The Truth? Question 2: would this author be a Disciple of Hitler?
My answer is: #1 - the author is giving you facts, but not necessarily the "truth" #2 - can't tell, but clearly a sympathizer.
What is YOUR answer this fairly simple question?

What is YOUR answer this fairly simple question? No one can answer those questions -- you're not even asking them about something anyone knows anything about. And no-one could even answer them anyway until he actually STUDIED the actual book himself -- if he perchance knew how to answer such questions to begin with.

These statements are on the public record - there is, or should not be, any controversy about them:
Hitler established the world's first modern road network Hitler ended the death, poverty and humiliation of the Versailles Treaty Hitler established the modern space industry. But the trick is this - is the author giving us the "facts" about Hitler?
YES.
Is the author "telling the truth" about Hitler?
MAYBE NOT.
People won't answer this thread because of the obvious connection with Doug Parker's "The Secret Sect."

People won't answer this thread because of the obvious connection with Doug Parker's "The Secret Sect."Having read Parker's book and studied his sources, I am of the opinion that he was perfectly honest in everything he said. So, do I believe he told the truth? Yes, I do. Do I "believe in"/support everything he wrote about. No, I don't. Do I think he "believes in"/supports everything he wrote about? No, I don't. Would I use his book as an authoritative source of information? Yes, of course. I am using his book as a source for a book I am presently writing. There is never going to be a book that tells everything there is to know about Hitler. I have personally read in excess of 3000 pages on Hitler, and I will read more if I get the chance because every book I've read so far has told me things that a different person learned about him. There is never going to be a book that tells everything there is to know about the workers. I'm perfectly aware that Parker never knew everything there is to know about the workers -- it doesn't negate the facts that he does know. I'm perfectly at liberty to find any kind of facts I can from anyone who has them, even if they seem contrary to Parker's experience. It still wouldn't mean Parker is wrong. Having read Hitler's Mein Kampf I believe every word of it is true. Do I believe in it myself? No. Did Hitler think he was telling the truth? Yes, he did. Did Hitler "BELIEVE IN" what he wrote about? Yes he did. And that's where he and Parker vastly differ. Parker was at odds with the folks he was writing about.

Ross do you believe the "road less traveled" is less traveled because the wisdom of the crowd? Do you think the crowds who follow current fashions of thought are doing so because they are wiser than previous generations?

Ross do you recognize the following statements in my cartoon? I took each remark from the bible.
If my church disappeared tomorrow I have no doubt something the same would appear later. Happened at least a dozen times in the Old Testament - never seemed to last more than a few generations. And then there would be a new crop of Doug Parkers to remind the people that it didn't go back to Jesus.

People won't answer this thread because of the obvious connection with Doug Parker's "The Secret Sect." So Parker, like "the author", only presents the good and honorable accomplishments of his subject, and omits the horrible atrocities committed by them? I guess the connection IS obvious!

Lol this whole discussion reminds me of George Carlin
Do you believe in God? No. Boom you're dead Do you believe in God? Yes Do you believe in my God? No Boom you're dead!
Lots of wars because God told them it was a good idea to kill those who didn't believe in your God. And, it's possible for everyone to believe in the right God but have the wrong understanding of that God too, as these threads will attest to!!

People won't answer this thread because of the obvious connection with Doug Parker's "The Secret Sect."Bert - as Bob said we can't answer the question. You are the only one seeing the obvious connection between Hitler's memoirs and The Secret Sect. In your cartoon you have people entering the "reassuring lie" - I presume that's people joining the 2x2's. They should then be coming out the door which says "An Inconvenient Truth" ie they entered, then found out the real story which is not what they were told in the advertisements or the box office and decided to exit the show. Bert's problem was that he had an answer, but he couldn't find a question to confirm it. Common occurance.

Quote - "(Parker) ... perfectly honest in everything he said"
In the next US Presidential Elections please note: the contenders will be "perfectly honest in everything" they say.
Some people get confused with that. You will have to vote for BOTH candidates.
Please note Magowan's comment about Parker's honesty.

At least 85% of the people who died through wars, genocide, pogroms and other misc mass killings in the 20th Century, died for purely secular causes. The Catholic Inquisition, one of the cruelest things in Western religion, never, never competed with secular mass murder and war. And why? No restraint.

The Catholic Inquisition, one of the cruelest things in Western religion, never, never competed with secular mass murder and war. And why? No restraint. What about the holocaust? It was definitely at least partially due to religious beliefs of Hitler. It was also backed by the Catholic church and they have very recently apologized for their role in it. He believed the Jews killed his savior. I do understand it was also for secular reasons but there is no way it wasn't also religious reasons. There were other genocides that happened for religious reasons also that never got publicized like the Jewish holocaust. It continues on into this century with the fundamentalist Muslims killing anyone who disagrees with them. Then there are the Christians killing the Muslims in parts of Africa. And something we can not forget is the beliefs many people hold that come from a religious upbringing that they continue to have when dealing in the secular world with secular issues. When you have a God that justifies killing the infidel, you have a problem with people using that to justify their deeds that are less than stellar.
