That's why there are some many disillusioned people out there......to become disillusioned you must first suffer an illusion!!!

Quote - "Just not sure about your casino analogy tho...." Some religious people are offended at the thought that "mere chance" brought them into the world (that becomes as philosophical issue BTW) But Casinos run their business on "mere chance" and you won't hear of them going bust because there were too many winnings. Like "nature" itself, Casinos understand probability and work with it.
BTW the gambler tends to work AGAINST the laws of probability.I think the difference is that casinos have set the rules regarding winning and the odds are in their favor. A red/black bet at an American roulette table pays out 1:1 but the but the odds against winning are about 1.11:1 so the player will, in a series of fair games, lost about $0.05 for every $1.00 bet. When you will lose that money is the only chance. Casinos set the odds in their favor and then profit from it!

Some scary physics, just to demonstrate how we can never grasp the depth of our world:
Weight is not a "fundamental" or single thing, but two things.... Weight is composed of mass verses gravity. In orbit your car "weighs" next to nothing.
"Speed" is not fundamental either, it is composed of two fundamentals, time verses distance.
But here's the kicker - some scientists say that both "time" and "distance" aren't fundamental either. I can sort-of-imagine that time is an illusion --- but distance!!!
Makes you realize that everything around us is just illusion. It's early sages called 'maya'. They believed everything is just an illusion and because it is it could be changed in little ways. Some believe that when you are not in the physical realm that time is not linear. That time is an illusion and we move through it. So many beliefs huh!

Is astrology wrong?
The use of astrology or the reliability of its 'results'? Or are there other levels that might be wrong?

Probably because it was in earlier 'Savior' stories. Jesus isn't the first one that had 3 Magi/wise men visit their birth. The Jesus story is not unique.

Makes you realize that everything around us is just illusion. I would tend to agree, as would many others, who you probably would see as otherwise having diametrically opposed viewpoints to you. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_(illusion)

Vedic astrology is the very oldest astrology in the Indian culture. This astrology is known as the Vedic astrology, because this astrology is done from the Vedic times and very old science to predict the future of a person. Even with the best marketing and the highest hype it still doesn't Work!

I think that they have settled that, -for them at least.
They managed to keep their belief system, yet acknowledge evolution!
Amazing, really how people try to eat their cake & still keep it as well.

An "evolutionist" can sit down with a "creationist" but to what effect? That's two people in nearly eight billion. All these two would be doing is rehearing the point of views of Creationism and Evolution.

Lawrence Krauss does quite a few debates with Creationists and they might change some people's minds I suppose seeing as they are all taped and usually done in front of large audiences. But really it seems like a waste of time mostly.
