Sharon passed away September 23, 2014 at 5:46 p.m in the presence of both her two brothers and their wives. I received the following info about Sharon's memorial service: The small community of Fort Fraser (B.C. Canada) where Sharon has lived these past 20 years wanted a memorial for her. Many of the folks who were her neighbors come only for the summer and were leaving to return to their homes and did not feel they could return to a memorial planned by Sharon’s brothers George and Frank in Vanderhoof (B.C. Canada) later in October. Sharon had previously selected a friend to deliver her eulogy about whom she said "Gord wears God on his sleeve." So in the little church that Sharon often attended in Fort Fraser about 55 folks gather and sang “Blessed Assurance,” “The Love of God” and one that Sharon often chose, “Because He Lives.” Her brothers George and Frank came also and returned home. They will return in a couple of weeks. Everyone stayed and visited after while enjoying a beautiful lunch, tea and coffee. Five of Sharon’s cousins also attended. It was a beautiful day.

Thanks for posting this info Cherie. I remember Sharon from way back when. She was one of my Aunt's companions, and stayed in my home when I was a young girl. She was always a familiar face to me at meetings and conventions. I didn't have any personal contact with her after she left the work and meetings, but I was aware of her new journey, through family and friends. I always enjoyed her postings and insight shared through them.
It still, to this day, makes me smile when I hear of people I once knew as "true blue fellowship members" who leave meetings and maintain a living relationship with God amongst other Christians. God's love, grace, mercy & salvation extend well beyond the confines of the friends and workers fellowship. I love the choice of music as well. "The Love of God" is a favorite of mine also.

This information was sent to me by Sheila Evans, Sharon's cousin:
Sharon Rose is now in the presence of Jesus, her Lord and Saviour. With her loving family at her side, she passed into Glory at 5:46 pm October 23, 2014. She fought a courageous battle with cancer, and she is now released from that struggle.
A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 18 in Vanderhoof, BC at the Gospel Chapel, 448 Connaught Street, Gordon Palmer officiating.
In memory of Sharon and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Vanderhoof Cancer Clinic would be appreciated. Envelopes will be provided at the service.
I hope I have not missed any. Please forward to others you feel would like to know this information.
