This show took place around 35 years ago and we all still remember Lucille Ball and Johnny Carson. Both have departed this life but both are still appreciated. Begin at 2:50

i love lucille ball too funny for her time... Wally ~ Me, too! She was hilarious and great comedy. Now we have Ducky Dynasty and Honey Boo Boo to replace real comedy and they just don't measure up to anything we saw in the past, like the I Love Lucy Show. Another favorite of mine was The Honeymooners with Jackie Gleason. Guess I'm telling my age here, but they were great comedy in the past!

I miss the great Queens of Hollywood...Betty Grable, Bette Davis, Ginger Rodgers, Susan Cabot (murdered by her own son in 1986), Joan Crawford, Ava Gardner, etc. The crap of today is disgusting. Gone is the day of the great comedians on stage. I miss Fred Astaire, Bob Hope, Red Skelaton, Milton Berle, Johnny Carson, Dick Cavett, and so many more.

How did you even know them well enough to miss them, having grown up without TV and movies?! But I agree-- at least with the handful of names I recognize, having become a fan of some old classic movies just in the last 20 years or so. But anyway, I don't think everything today is crap. We still have a few Queens of Hollywood. Meryl Streep, Helen Mirren, Judy Dench, Tom Cruise, Kathy Bates, Vanessa Redgrave...

The classic queens lived in a less polished environment. Many of them were orphaned and thus were sort of acting naturally. Some like Joan Crawford and Greta Garbo became recluse in their latter days. Many had short lives. Few ever saw 90. Many of the radio and TV voices of the early 20th century had acting skills. I hated to read about the death of Mickey Rooney.I never cared for Elizabeth Taylor and all of her 9 or 10 weddings. Loretta Young was a good one also. You can find some classic movies on You Tube.
Joan Crawford and Bette Davis saw daughters turn against mommies over some unpleasant memories of growing up.

Lana Turner is one of the most intriguing of the Hollywood stars.
