It seems some children really do want to talk about spirituality, so it depends, I guess. Alvin It depends on the environment in which the child was raised.

I was answering a couple of wally's quotes .
Try to imagine a small child has been shot & is dying and is told that, "Gods promises come at his own time not ours, so his promise of vengeance (against the person that shot the child ) will come by the end".
Can you honestly think that would be any comfort to a dying child that the a god will take vengeance on the one that shot him/her, but it will just come "in god's own time?"
Now how this quote below would ever even make sense to a dying child to begin with completely evades me, to think that it would be any comfort to them (or to any adult for that matter) also evades me!
1Co 15:32 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.
I don't understand how that would be a comfort either, dmmichgood. Maybe Wally could explain? I have been with people ,dying , but never with a young child, so I don't know what a person could say to be a comfort, really. It sure would be easy to say things that would NOT be a comfort, I'm sure, even with good intentions. Alvin From what I have seen and heard of young children that are dying, they do the comforting of the parent. At least in cases of cancer or other more longer duration terminal illnesses. They seem to have a peace about them. Got that feeling from a lot of them in the Children's hospital here.

No, read again. Are there people who really believe that it is the fault of "woman" for the "fall of man" ? I admit, it is surprising , sometimes at the attitudes of "prejudice" out there towards women. A while ago, one of the girls at the place our farm does business with, who is extraordinarily talented and capable, was chided by an older male driver of a truck for her even working at such a facility , and he refused to allow her to load his truck. Even so, I doubt he blames "women" for the fall of man, but it might explain his "single" status, as far as marriage goes. To top it off, I don't think he is religious at all , so can't blame on that , can we ? Alvin Everybody that has grown up in the Western world is influenced more than they know by religion and what it teaches. Even those of us that are not religious probably still have a lot of what we were taught as children mulling around inside of us causing us to act in unconscious or possibly even conscious ways. I have noticed it seems to be what kind of personality we have that seems to influence what we latch onto and make our own though. Some dwell on love, others dwell on punishment, other's dwell on the evils of women. and on it goes!!

thier both to blame eve did her sin out of being convinced to sin and adam did his sin deliberatly knowing full well he should not eat of the fruit Wally ~ Here's a good article on the Fall of mankind. At the conclusion of this article it seems to indicate that Adam is really to blame for original sin entering the world and starting the Fall ~ not his wife, Eve! However, she does get the blunt end of jokes for both, even though the Bible tells us differently in the New Testament. All I can say is that it was real "nervy" of Adam to blame God for giving him Eve and then blame Eve for his own screw-ups!

Well that's never stopped lol. Men still figure out ways to put all the blame for what they do on women!! Isn't that the line they use when they rape a woman. She's to blame for coming on to me?

This is one of the most blatant example of sexism I have seen on this message board in a long time. Rational ~ I feel you hold that opinion because you're a man and come from Mars? However, you have to admit that instead of Adam "fessing" up to his sinful behavior, he first blames God for giving him Eve in the first place, and then he turns around and blames Eve for giving him the apple. Honestly, she didn't make him eat it ~ he did that on his own accord knowing the consequences! Then Eve gets blamed by Paul for "leading Adam into transgression" in the New Testament. What a crock! For sure, there just seems to be no end to this blame game employed in the Bible?

I'm a woman and I come from planet earth! As written it reads like a blanket statement about men. That may not be the intention, but that is how it comes across, and that is how it is sexist!

Rational ~ I was just having some fun with you. However, it was a bit sexiest in content, I have to admit. Snow and I stand guilty as charged! It's just that women get blamed so much for man's failings, that we've had it up to the eyeballs ~ and the Bible just seems to help this along in all its remarks and restrictions regarding the female gender? The Apostle Paul comes to mind a lot in this respect! I believe women would call it a bit chauvinistic?

Rational ~ Wasn't she some famous humanist from the 18th century and a forerunner of women's rights? When I did a Google Search on her name, I came up with the following. Honestly, she sounds like a real free thinker and way ahead of her time.

Maybe you should use Wollstonecraft instead of the bible when it comes to women. Rational ~ Wasn't she some famous humanist from the 18th century and a forerunner of women's rights? That would have been the reason why I referenced her in relation to this discussion. My point was that you are complaining about how the bible depicts women and the solution is simple - read a different book.

A man and a woman were applying for the same job. The boss said, "you need to take a test before you get this job" So they took the test and the next day they came back to see who the boss chose. "well, both of you got the same score except I'm going to choose the woman" The man complained, "don't you think that is unfair and prejudiced ........" "weeeeell" the boss said "both of your papers were right all the way through until the last question came up and the woman answered 'I don't know', and then when I looked at your paper , you answered "Me either".
Honestly, this is factually and truly truly truly truly truly not a true story.

Course I believe in angels. Of course you do but can you determine how many angels can dance on the head of a pin? This has been an ongoing question.

W.Tell Angels not fallen angels can appear like a man. I doubt they do anything of their own volition. They worship the father. Hi bubbles, here is my understand let me know what you think. Paul wrote in II Cor.11:13-15 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
~~ Satan and the fallen angels can change their form back into the angels of light. We know the good angels can take on human form/body and they look just like the humans. So, I wouldn't be surprised Satan and the fallen angels could do the same, by taken any human form they want because they still have the Super natural Powers God has given them.
I dont know if im right. I think based on what I think today. Lucifer was cast out of heaven with 1/3 of the angels because of rebellion. Lucifer led all the angels in worship he wasvthe most beautiful of the angels. He decieved 1/3 conv8ncing them that he lucifer deserved the praise adulation and worship. He was jealous of God. The father cursed lucifer and changed his form and that of the 1/3.casting them out of heaven to eat the dust of the earth. When Adam and Eve fell they were disrobed of the glory of god. Saw their nakedness. some say the serpent stole the power that day. He is called 'the prince of the power of the air. 'He rules our heaven. There is a scripture that refers to him appearing as an angel of light.(remembered as im writing) We were warned as visionaries to watch for this. In case of deception. When it comes to spiritual warfare. If one appeared in front of me I have a few questions that I would test them with. ( probably sound off the wall. I assure you im not. Its hot today)

Ive always thought principalities and powers spirits of wickedness to be demonic. Remember story prince of persia fighting for 3wks with Michael the Arch angel. Daniel was fasting if I remember rightly.

I believe in angels. Every last one of them are human though. We don't give enough credit to those who help us when we say thank God when it really was a human that helped you.
