Dmmichgood,
I am sure if you want to have multiple wives or husbands there will be people who will oppress you. Same too if a man wants to have his own gay boy. There are laws against that in my country, Bert!
So far we don't have a law in my country making it unlawful to be an atheist! Is there one where you live?

Yes Dmmich -- there are laws. Just like there were laws against homosexuals. Well those laws are going to be repealed in the next twenty years. By who? Firstly by ethnic groups who practice polygamy. Secondly by American religious groups who do the same. Thirdly by people who realize polygamists have rights like gays have rights. Fourthly by scientists who have studied the success of polygamy on marriage and child rearing. And lastly, if by none of the above then the next generation who seek to overthrow the taboos of their parents.

Has absolutely nothing to do with taboos, BERT! It has to do with the recognition of rights! I've said about umpteen times now, Bert, it is about forcing someone to do something against their will and without their consent.
When someone forces an under-age child to marry them, have sex with them; -that is & should be NOT be allowed by law. It has nothing to do with being "generational" thing!
When past generations wouldn't acknowledge the rights of all people, they were wrong! It is about the rights of consenting adults.
We have reversed laws against "mixed marriages" (white & blacks) or other ethnic groups. We have made it illegal for multiple marriages of below the 'age of consent' young women to older men. (Mormons) We certainly need to protect those young people who can't protect themselves, but we do NOT have the right to criminalize people for what they do in their bedrooms!
If they of the age of consent, what gives the government or YOU the right to criminalize what two people do in their bedroom just because YOU think they shouldn't be doing it? Do you think the government OR MYSELF have the right to monitor what you do in YOUR bedroom?

Dmmichgood, do you believe the "government" (ie society) has the right to tell two women they can't marry the same man at the same time?

Dmmichgood, do you believe the "government" (ie society) has the right to tell two women they can't marry the same man at the same time? Yes, if the "man" is an is underage child.
Just as the Mormon man was convicted of child abuse because he had married under age of consent "women" (girls.)
Answer MY questions before you ask me another! I will repeat them!
"If they of the age of consent, what gives the government or YOU the right to criminalize what two people do in their bedroom just because YOU think they shouldn't be doing it?" "Do you think the government OR MYSELF have the right to monitor what you do in YOUR bedroom?"

Good question dmm controlling what a person does in their bedroom. Guess it is another thing if they're displaying it in public though.
As for selling burgers and fatty foods to an overweight person. They aren't allowed to keep selling alcohol to a drunk person so is there any difference?

An overweight person only harms themself as far as I know. Someone who is gay and wants to get married doesn't harm anyone at all.

You could use the argument why are drugs banned in a lot of countries when after all they don't hurt anyone but the user.
Drugs, obesity, drunkedness, smoking affect more than just the user, they affect those around them who have to help care for them, society, and the health system. An obese person may be less likely to work due to their health problems.

So then can the "government" enter the bedroom to ensure there are only two, correctly ages persons present? Saying someone is "underage" means that yes, the government CAN be in your bedroom, no?
... and for that matter, should sex over the internet (below) be illegal?

You are hopelessly impertinent, Bert.
Believe anything you damn well want to, Bert, but next time you quote me give me the credit for it instead of just sticking it into your own post!

Dmmichgood, you are simply not thinking things through.
BERT! YOU don't even THINK! Let alone thinking anything through.
You just regurgitate the same old crappy stuff & don't give one hoot about anyone who doesn't agree with your anti-human rights views!

Who is Josh Duggar? Should I know? He is the oldest of a family of 19 children. His family made a fortune flaunting their pure Christian moral values in a TV series. No hugging, kissing, or unchaperoned dates before marriage. Josh himself was a poster-boy for family values. However, the porn star he dated claimed he was "too rough" for her.

So... instead of having government in your bedroom, and making sure government doesn't allow anything unfashionable in the bedroom - maybe we could get government to wait outside the bedroom door?
I am getting seriously confused.

I am getting seriously confused. Come on, Bert. Insurance companies pay your medical bills, but don't even ask what you ate for dinner that damaged your health. But then, since this is the humor thread, I expect you're making fun of people who believe all that crap stuff. On the other hand, are you looking for an government inspector job?
