Question to those who hold an exclusive mindset - There are 108, 000, 000 people living in Mexico... Do you honestly believe every single last one is a lost soul simply because they do not fellowship under the ministry of the above 38 people?
Are you comfortable denying the Holy Spirit's work in millions and millions of Mexicans if your answer to the above question is yes?

Even though I don't go to meeting anymore and am not a huge supporter of the 2x2 ministry, I do find it disturbing that someone posted all those pictures. Do you have their permission?? I sure wouldn't want my picture posted with out being asked.

I sure wouldn't want my picture posted with out being asked. Some people just like to get people stir up, rile up to keep the viewers rating all time high. This board has to be interesting with gossips, shocking articles, false accusations, sex scandals or people will leave and find another message board to post.

Speaking of a new message board to post on, c'mon over... The reasons you stated are a reason to leave, not stay. The Administrator of this board is not pro-active and must show partiality toward those who are unethical and those who post the false accusations and unproven sex scandals etc... This new boards administrator will be proactive and take suggestions on improving the board seriously. The administrator will also be looking for moderators at a later date. These moderators will be chosen by their reputation on the board. So, leave this board behind for now and come on over and post on the new board as a guest or a member. professenboiler.proboards89.com/index.cgi

Yes, Cherie, Alan Anderson is the main man. Took over from Uncle Clarence. But he is on the go so much, do they really need a lead worker?

What is the purpose of such a graphic? When we attended meetings we had annual worker lists with their "home base" listed in each field. I am just at a loss to understand why such a map with worker pics is necessary.
I do know that foreign fields become vacation destinations for 2x2 tourists. Is that why such an annotated map exists?
Otherwise, didn't Paul kinda scold folks for worrying about who the messenger was??

Will, Get over it.. Was that not a fair question? I have been out for 10 years, but for the 20 years in, I NEVER saw such a thing. Clearly technology permits this more easily now. I'm assuming one of the friends did this, but why? As for the tourist comment. I remember when we vacationed in Europe once and went to meeting there, the elders where the meeting was held commented on being tour guides for visiting friends so often it was wearisome.

Dude... All they did was put together a map, the worker list, and some photos... it's neat and there's nothing wrong with it...
Stop getting worked up over something so trivial and enjoy LIFE!

I sure wouldn't want my picture posted with out being asked. I bet Jesus wouldn't have cared. Why wouldn't God's servants want themselves published anywhere they can get it -- could help fulfill the Great Commission. What is there to fear? John 3:21 - But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.I think this is great. I'm going to find out from my mother if this is legit and get their addresses from her and write to them. All of them. Thanks, picture poster! You do wonderful work. I'm sure I won't have any problem getting addresses and/or phone numbers of God's servants in Mexico. Unless someone can provided these also? You coud pm me . . . or email me so I can get started . . . ? Christ's Forever, Jessi

If I recall correctly, this photo and the other info was done with the workers blessing. Unless you know otherwise, state your facts. I think it is neat. Japan has always done something similar with the map part but haven't seen photos.

A worker, I think in Kansas, uses worker pictures and makes a calendar. The conventions and special meetings are listed on this calendar.
It is a very nicely done calendar. I've seen it in several homes, makes a nice conversation starter.

I've seen it in several homes, makes a nice conversation starter. Are you talking like a full size, wall-hanging calender with one month per two page spread? Or just some little reminder book-marker size calender to fit in a bible? In any event...I think this is freaky. We don't put up crosses, but it's okay to put workers on calenders like playboy playmates? Um. peace, freespirit

a regular size-8 x 11 on the top and 8 x 11 on the bottom
the top was a different photo for each month some were more casual shots, like at preps others were the formal shot taken at convention the bottom was a regular calendar grid with conventions and special meetings typed on
they were for general use of the saints yeah, a 2 page spread

I'll vouch for the existence of the wall-hanging calendar. They posed around some farm equipment and I think a swing set. It was quite charming in a weird sort of way.
They don't like it when you put up images or symbols representing Jesus Christ, but then they put together a calendar to go along with the many worker photos that lots of 2x2s display around their homes.
This is clearly a double standard if there ever was one.

Maybe these could be placemats for convention tables? Or, as the kids "play meeting" they could make up some trading cards (like baseball cards) and swap workers between states. Perhaps include stats like E.R.A. or "batting average" or R.B.I. ??
But, ya know, there is probably no "wordly church" in existence where the ministers in, say, a synod or diocese, are featured in calendar form or even like this map. I have seen literature that features mission projects like wells drilled or schools or clinics built -- but never the ministers. I just don't remember workers elevating themselves quite like this.
Go figure.
I"ve exceeded my posting limit on this one...

Giggling at the trading card idea--totally fits my sick and irreverent sense of humor. BWAHAHAHAHAHA! ;D Can we add averages like XX minutes spent preaching how we ought to look like Jesus vs XX minutes spent preaching about how we ought to look like the sister workers?
I'm willing to bet the calenders were done with a home computer and the people/person making it wasn't thinking of how odd they are. Maybe they were thinking it would be nice if people prayed for the workers. I dunno. I guess it's kinda cute. Maybe.
I'm still voting that it's freaky weird. And I'm not liking that Jesus is being ushered out the backdoor while we have a pinup calender of the workers.
Who are we following here?
peace, freespirit
